She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I hope your right @RubyNala97!
We will also be doing back to school shopping tomorrow. Supplies are supplied by the city so only really need clothes, shoes & backpacks. But will probably pick up some note pads for 15c each & some pencils. I think we are going to get hiking bags, a bit more expensive but will survive a few years rather than a few months.

Will catch up tomorrow but wanted to update. I made the trip and got my eggs. Very nice girl (byc member, which I didn't know at the time) and I came home with 32 eggs and got them set! Yeah! Even had room to spare in the incubator. I must say I dont especially like the rails, but I guess they work!

17 golden sebrights, 6 black tail buff Japanese, 5 silver duckwing OEGB, and 4 silver sebrights.

She has beautiful hens, so I expect these to be nice. We walked around, she showed me all her pens, she has peafowl, horses, ducks, and lots of chickens! Oh, she even has call ducks, so I told her I might be back in touch in the spring. We'll see when they start laying. Lovely Welsh Harlequins and Anconas too. She has some beautiful project birds also. I had the hardest time not bringing home silkies!!! She has the prettiest silkies I have ever seen! Pictures included. Not that I'm a silkie judge, but she showed me some that have won shows. Absolutely gorgeous! 2-1/2 hours each way, but I think it will be worth it.

Sounds like a good person to know!! Great score! :)

I just candled again (it's day 10) found another cracked one :( so now down to 31. Our oldest said they look like a lava lamp. Air cells look like they got maybe 1 millimeter bigger. Some look like large dark orange blobs and other smaller & lighter orange blobs. Still not 100% sure what I am looking at lol. Wish I knew someone with experience close by to check them.

If you can take some pics when you candle, there are several experienced candlers here, we could weigh in on what you are seeing.

Really?? Here in public school, you not only have to get your child's supplies but supply half the class as well because "we" (I say that with much sarcasm) believe in "community" supplies in the classroom.... Sore subject with me......

I candled my shipped eggs quickly as I was tilting them tonight. I'm so mad at myself for not going with overnight shipping!! :he
I at least, lost another two. The veins are receding and it looks like black blobs stuck on the side of the egg! That's 6 I've lost and a couple more look iffy. I hate tilting them too. It looks like all the stuff is settled in the pointy end of the egg. Maybe tomorrow (day 12) I'll really candle and lay the ones that are still alive on their side and turn. What do you guys think? It's just so disappointing. At this point I'll just be happy with a pair. A very expensive pair!

You should see the items on the school supply list! Pack of multi-sized post-it notes, 3-pack box of tissues, Clorox wipes, dry erase markers, sharpie markers, erasable pens, etc, etc, etc. it's becoming insanity. I'm not "staples".

Our list is not that bad. We just haD to get a ream of print paper, tissues, wipes, soap, had sanitizer, and one thing of dry erase markers for the class and everything else is for Chyler.

I'm so sorry about your eggs
:hugs I feel your pain. I only have 2 going into lockdown tomorrow out of 15. So......and one I can't really see. And the other the air cell is already moving down the side I hope the chick does not get stuck. It's pretty active so we shall see here in the next 3 days.

It is really disappointing when it doesn't pan out. I hope you have a better hatch than I did. Sending much luck your way.

I will try to remember to plug my phone in before candling. My tablet doesn't take the best pictures.

@AmyLynn2374 & @RubyNala97 I felt the same way when we lived in the metropolitan area the list was like 7 notebooks, 2 packs of blue pens, 2 packs of pencils, sticky notes, dry erase markers, 2 boxes Kleenex, Clorox wipes, paper towel ect ect ect. But up here in the country I bought all the stuff once but first day of school the teacher/school had all that waiting on their desks. So now I wait for the teachers ask 2-3 months later.

Oh sending tons of luck to you too. Mind you my luck hasn't been brilliant. Sending any good luck to you.
