She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I think Bev did the best of what I hope to do: breeding to SOP while maintaining egg color. It's a shame she doesn't sell any more, but the breeder that sidewing got his chicks from was recommended to him by Bev. I can't wait to follow their progress. That way when I send him the Paul Smith eggs, he will owe me

Seems to me there was some line about not expecting anything in return.... but I could be mistaken...

you can't throw that out and then no more.so welcome pull up a chair share your views with the rest of . after all you can't be any worse than we are . If you've be reading this thread you know that already .
I didn't take any offense by that. I asked for opinions, and that would be a typical response on the BCM thread. I know Tate has faults, so I knew what to expect. I have noticed, though, that plenty of people pick out the faults, but very few post pics of their SQ birds

Ok, guys, I'm almost ashamed to post this, but here is the link to where Tate came from. He put up a new ad. I knew nothing at the time, and from the pics that's obvious

At least I'm already moving forward. Tate looks much better than his siblings, and I picked up a few older, better quality hens. Hopefully they can help him produce a more SOP rooster, but if not I will try and find one next year.

So I went to the store yesterday and bought new batteries for my candler/flashlight. It was flickering, so I figured it was time. Well let me tell you, this thing must have been near dead because after I changed the batteries, it was like the eggs were transparent! I had marked 3 eggs "dead". I was taking them out last night but wanted to give them a final look with the improved candler. Well one of the dead ones is NOT dead!! It's weird though, because on one side of the egg there is not a lot of veins, then you turn it and all the veins are condensed on the other side. Nonetheless, the little chick was kicking his feet. I felt so bad that I was about to take it out and leave it on the counter overnight! I'm very happy to be back up an egg!! :yesss:

That's what happens when you hatch, grow, and sell everything. Culling is a necessity
