That's what happens when you hatch, grow, and sell everything. Culling is a necessity
French redneck hick..![]()
Day 20.....so.....yeah....Oh no... what day are we on?
OMG!!!!!
That is Wade, but he's out. There is a very long story to that, and it differs on who you talk to. Wade was in GA, not far from Athens, and my birds are "Wade Jeane lines". Sounded good at the time, but I know better now. I'm also English/Scottish lines, but rather dilutedI'm sitting here so P.Oed I sold my best rooster because he was mean and now don't have a mean one to try Don's method on .Sidewing's eggs should be good .I don't think those chicks were cheap![]()
is this Wade Jeane
That's exactly what I'm trying not to doAnd he will sell some, and they will think they got beautiful birds.... and will continue the process....
I'm no longer in denial, I realized last night that I have a SERIOUS addiction to candling. I just told myself the night before that I wouldn't candle again to lockdown...and I believed myself (that's how I know it's bad). But at night when I go to hand turn, I literally can not stop myself!! Now that I've changed the batteries and could see Mars if I shined this thing in the sky, forget about it.I don't throw out anything until lockdown unless it stinks. Then again, I don't candle until lockdown...
Do it, you'll be shocked at how much better it is! I was about to kill a chick! Oh and I thought the quail eggs were all too old and duds...2 are developing!Always nice to have some good news!! And thanks for the reminder, mine needs new batteries too.
Is this what SQ looks like for BCMs? So, no gold around the neck? I seriously don't know what sop is and I think all the pics posted were handsome.I'm sitting here so P.Oed I sold my best rooster because he was mean and now don't have a mean one to try Don's method on .Sidewing's eggs should be good .I don't think those chicks were cheap

I didn't take any offense by that. I asked for opinions, and that would be a typical response on the BCM thread. I know Tate has faults, so I knew what to expect. I have noticed, though, that plenty of people pick out the faults, but very few post pics of their SQ birds![]()
The color is better than tate, but that bird doesn't look as good as the one Ravyn posted yesterday. If you go to Snowbird's profile page, he has a beautiful rooster, too. Jeane's birds are known for being taller and leaner than Bev's. All lines have their issues, but I think sidewing went the best routeI'm no longer in denial, I realized last night that I have a SERIOUS addiction to candling. I bought a plug in candler once. Was a total piece of crap. I returned it the next day.![]()
This is why I'm trying to be patient, find the right breeders and pay more now. I don't want to hatch something and get attached to it and then have to give it away. I already wish I hadn't of gone with the original breeder I went with. But you guys made me feel a lot better about them!I have seen this pic before, but never noticed. Even in the most prominent pic on that website, the roo he is holding has the exact same comb fault that Tate does
Man, I wish I had been patient and gotten on a waiting list like sidewing did.
This is a lesson for anyone wanting to breed. If I keep moving forward with what I have, I will probably still be 2 years behind sidewing
