Seriously though, I hate to see people feel guilty because they choose to do something differently than the norm. If I was candling and was having compromised hatches, then it would be a different story, but as long as it's working for you, that's what matters.

I have hens for sale. I have 2 chickens that are laying eggs right now ($15each). I have 3 that will be laying in a month or two($10each). I have 3 smaller hens that won't lay eggs until the spring($5each). I have 3 silkie females, ($10each) they are laying eggs, one is very broody and setting on eggs now. I have 4 silkie males($5) surprisingly 3 of the males get along. I have a male rooster, he does not chase you. He isn't like most roosters, he is a little slow. he didn't form right in the incubator, but he has survived for over a year.

Ok thanks i know im not supposed to post in this forum but i couldnt figure it out lol. So at day ten i can candle them and if they are forming they shouldnt be hurt correct? And will a flashlight work as candling?

That's funny because I just sold all my roosters today to 3 different people and I got 5 for each one. Lol!!!!

I found in the early part of the season, I can sell my extras roos- this late in the season I can barely give them away.

I did the e cig for about year, then lost my adapter and had a stressful day so I bought a pack of real cigs a couple months ago and I've been having a problem going back to the e cig. But the real cigs make me feel like crap.

I would go with Oxine over bleach... I use Oxine for my bators and in waterers in a pinch... I don't stress over microbugs in water too much, would rather have tougher animals and let them build up resistance... I never use ACV in fact, it strips out all good gut bacteria as well as bad...
Copper sulfate eliminates scrubbing out waterers all the time... have not scrubbed any of mine all summer... and I add red cell quite a bit too, doesn't affect buildup, just stains...

Those ecigs that you get from the gas stations are nasty. I make my own eliquid that way I know what goes into it. It really helped. I started with 24mg of nicotine and I am now down to 9mg nicotine. I am vaping a strawberry custard recipe that I concocted. Delicious.

Same here. I can still sell them once they get to processing size, but it costs more to feed them than I sell them for. Luckily I'm out of LF roos, but those little hootchie mama silkies...there's two of them sitting right now

Liquid horse vitamins... very thick... red cell is brand name, other is TSC's generic brand... I put a cap ful per gallon, gotta add it in a little water and shake first, good vites and last longer and cheaper than rooster booster/kicking rooster...

I might try a chicken soup type recipe for the small cockerels. Then I could dress them younger and skip the plucking process. I could just roast them and then do the bone broth thing with them and use the hearts, necks, etc.
