She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Just saying Hi. Wiped out from bad news and tough charts this morning.

Will catch up later but there was some really good info posted here today on shipped eggs. I too believe that the damage is done by the time you get them and there's nothing you can do to reverse the damage.

Still hoping for the best Ruby!

Thank you... was just joking... it just got real quiet all of a sudden after my last post...

That's usually what happens after I post....lol

So.... because it's pretty nice outside today we decided to do some of our school work out in the yard. Took a blanket out and what we needed for our science and math and decided while we were out there we might as well let some of the chickens out for some free range time. Well... at one point I look up down the driveway and here's this big ole Saint Bernard sauntering into the yard. Of course I freaked out and jumped up yelling. All I could picture was a blood bath about to happen. My little Llhasa Apso pom a poo was out there with us too and as soon as I jumped up and started yelling she saw the other dog and took off after it as well. Well the dog did a quick turn around and headed back down the road, but my dumb little dog was going to chase it all the way back home, so I was screaming at her to get back here. I know there's a house down a bit that has 3 or 4 Saints. I saw em last year after we moved out here when we went for a walk so I imagine that's where it came from. First time in over a year that I've had a "stray" dog in the yard. Better be the last time too. I'd hate to have to shoot a pet, even with a bb gun, but I'm not dealing with dogs in my yard. Hoping that it was an accidental got loose type thing. I'm assuming it is since I've never seen one loose before. Hoping it is. I don't deal well with people that let their dogs roam free. Especially big dogs when I have a son and chickens.

Our Boston Terrier attacked a pit bull someone was walking on a leash in front of our house. Thank goodness the owner held them back. Those little dogs have no comprehension of how small they are.
"Pet" ferals are as bad as hay bales. Got a cat last night...

If their rep is to be believed, about the worst that would've happened is that you drowned from him slobbering all over you.

One of my sadder SSS stories pertains to a neighbors dog. We had no clue who's it was, but when we found out 6 months later that the sweet lady's dog never came home one winter day, we offered our condolences that her dog disappeared and remained silent.

No they don't. The saint could have ate her for breakfast...lol

I'm not worried about me, I'm worried about the chickens. I am usually an animal lover, but I detest having people's dogs running loose. I know it's not the dog's fault, but it'll make me dislike the animal. If it's an accident that the dog got loose, that's one thing (though I still don't want it in my yard) and I can keep my temper, but if it's someone that always has these "accidents" or don't care that the dog is running that makes me boil.

Ouch.

My renter took care of a feral cat a week or so ago. Now a couple people have been saying "has anyone seen that black cat running around lately?".... Nope!
