She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

You're near Newburgh, huh? Ever run across a family named Regerro? They were IBMer's who got transferred down here, where I met them. They've since moved back there. I witnessed one of them get married there, & buried him there later...my very best friend back then.

I lost this post in my multi that got lost before. Yes, 15 minutes away. Some parts are nice and other parts are scary. Very high crime rate there. I don't know of that name. Lots of IBMers here!! I'm sorry about your loss! : hugs

I saw some BR and some Narragansett turkey eggs on eBay yesterday. I've never really been into turkeys. I'd love to get some Peacocks 1 day though. And some Cayuga ducks, they are absolutely gorgeous!!

Please talk to me before you decide if you want to hatch peas!

I don't think having eggs to trade is going to be a necessity for getting eggs in the ship-a-thon ;)
It kind of started when I said I was going to practice shipping eggs to sidewing and WV, then it kind of went from there. If you are a member of this clique and someone likes you :gig , chances are you could get some eggs :D

I think it's going to be fun, and a few people on this thread have really nice birds, so it will be interesting to watch the hatch results

I'm really excited for the spring ship-a-thon too!! I don't know if anyone wants silkies but I will package them so a bomb could go off and they will be ok!!

You have Calls near you??? :drool

I love ducks, but standard sized are so dustructive... Calls are much nicer on the yard, lol...

Oh, and welcome anytime... I can try to do a pic progressive instructions on packing eggs, if there's enough interested???

Yes, would love pics. We should all decide on exactly how the packages should be packed/shipped in spring and then maybe a good tutorial?

I think every one is invited to the shipathon, silly billy. If not you are invited to mine.

Best packed eggs.

They are pretty. If you're seriously interested, ask them if they have a website or Facebook that you could view. This way you see more pics and the living conditions.

This all of them together. Nana is more scared of people so I couldn't get a good pic of her.

They are beautiful!

Do you know that the depth of water doesn't change humidity? It's the surface area that raises humidity, not the volume. If you are spreading enough water in all the channels to fill one, then your humidity will be higher. Fill one all the way, and if that gives you your desired humidity, you won't have to refill as often. If it's still too low, fill another
I didn't know that, that's probably why the humidity keeps shooting up when I add water, I doubt I'm actually getting the water in the channel, it's probably spreading across the bottom of the bator. I'll do that, just fill 1 channel. Unless you think the sponge would work better?

@Ruby: Yeah, I'm still just thinking about the peafowl, my husband would probably say no anyway, lol. But if I do decide to give it a shot I'll let you know. Thank you for the compliment on my Nannies, we love them. I just wish I could find that darn nest, I want to hatch some of them, lol.

Its actually pretty ironic that you chose that pic. I was working for our DNR office in 1988, in the hunting & fishing license office, where that stamp would have been sold!

Very cool!

It won't hurt to take the lid off for a bit to add the water. The humidity will jump a little when you add water, especially if the water is warm. The sponge may work fine, but if one well would hold your humidity constant, you wouldn't have to refill it as often

K, I'll do that then. I'm just terrified to move the eggs cause everyone has said to move them as little as possible. But taking the lid off won't hurt. I feel like I'm working with live grenades, lol. I hope I make it through this hatch with my sanity still intact. What little sanity I have left anyway. :/

Those are the Fine shavings out of the big block we get from TSC for our chick brooders... work great... sawdust packs too hard and Flake shavings leave too much air pockets/space...

I'll see what I can do for instruction pics...

Meant to say, your Nankins are gorgeous too... :)

OH wants peas badly... we gotta build a special pea house first, lol...

Correct... :)
