She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Oh great, all of your ramblings for me to comment on, and they don't carry in the quote.

Now I have to scroll up, type, scroll up, type... What did you do wrong?

I agree with the difference between Amy's personal flock and my breeding to sell. I guess that's why I point out how many hatches I've done this year. I assisted my first two with bad results. That's what led to me not assisting in the successive hatches. I started to quote the same post of Sally's that you did. I find it interesting that the woman who is so often referenced for assisted hatching doesn't assist any more
On the assessments, perhaps you were overrated

You're right about the cuckoo vs barred. I just spend so much time with the cuckoo marans that I forget about the barred birds, so that is my general fallback for that general pattern

How did I miss steak vs cake? One is a hunk of meat, and the other is sweet and creamy. Makes much more sense that way

I refuse to comment on how long eggs are fertile, or where the cheesecake is stored. They poke, they lay eggs, I put them in the incubator. End of story
Maybe I should call my DW and see if she wants a cheesesteak at lunch.
It's better late at night or early morning. Maybe mornings are best. The chesesteak is fresher, and you don't have to deal with the heartburn

Technically 1st gen SG...but that doesn't mean much....lol

That's awesome! Congrats!
Amy, I'm not saying this because it's you, but those NNSG, whatever that creature is...
That's a chicken that only a mother could love

Elvis is interesting...cute...
Priscilla is gorgeous

Sally, came across this today, had to save it and then share it here..when did you start a pre school..looks a bit intimidating...even spooky...

Gooo too the baack dooor...oooohhh...

Sally who?
O M G

Finally got a call from my Dad, he's recovering and the surgery went well! (My dad is a super high risk for surgery and recently finished a super long course of chemo for two kinds of lymphoma)
Doctor reassured him he got all the colon cancer and he should get out of the hospital on Sunday if it all goes well.

This is great news!

Maybe I should call my DW and see if she wants a cheesesteak at lunch.
<winks, you betcha>

And what was I thinking, hatching 4 more different breeds this time! :th
No worries, those are small breeds... easier to make setups for...

Hey, I multi-quoted just fine! Not my fault you dropped the ball... :gig Yep, amount of hatches and intentions of flocks is a big factor in assists... I agree totally... :D Still can't believe you missed the steak/cake... slipping, sc, slipping badly... :smack Although, maybe it was cheesesteak with cheesecake for dessert? :lau I find it ironic that Amy's troublemaking bird is named Raven...
O M G This is great news! @RavynFallen :lau

Small breeds are just causing me to add more dividers, so it will be easier, but still have to build new small coops.

I caught the cake/steak too, but was too busy at work to point it out. Glad somebody did! Figured it would be you or Amy! :gig

I have done wrap ups, and they are fabulous
gig.gif
, but I've been too busy to do one lately. You might not like my wrap ups anyway, because you kinda had to read the thread to get them

.

For example, one line of yesterday's wrap up would be "chooks finally showed up and said nothing".
See? You had to be there

Mark it down on the calendar and take it as a blessing.

Thanks, Walnut and Friday. I'll get there!

Ravyn, I miss you guys too. We still on for the 18th?

Just a thought, but instead of several small coops have you looked into a breeder pen setup? Like one long coop divided into several with adjoining runs from the back side? I like the concept but runs are usually smaller than I personally like for lf, but think it'd be great for bantams... if you can get free pallets I know an awesome setup to look at too...

I have so much more I want to say about the steak... :duc

You betcha!! :jumpy

So keeping my :fl that these 3 Araucana eggs hatch... pulled a lot of clears, knew there'd be a bunch due to molting... :/

This is what I wish I had done, but I had no idea what it would grow into when I started. Speaking of that, guess what I just found...pics of my first coop and chickens ever
big_smile.png

Most of you guys have seen my setup. Back yard full with 7 pens and 130 chickens, give or take a few. Remember I told you the green silkie coop with the pink shutters was my original coop? The entire operation? Here is that coop, 6 years ago, with pullet pics of Lizzie, Maude, Nell, and Susan. Almost brings a tear to my eye:

I can't believe it, my original girls. Nell, the last of the originals, died last year
That coop is now home to about 30 silkies
