She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I can, and that's really what my customers want, but I hate having to explain the difference between show quality and pet quality every time someone comes over. I already have to do that with my silkies and d'uccle. Chances are, even if I sell them to someone as dark egg layers, that person will turn around and sell their chicks as BCM, and the cycle continues
That is true and a great point. They do grow fast and make great meat birds from what I hear.

Oh, BTW, I found a website as addictive as Amazon. Vistaprint. I need to get business cards because I'm getting a lot of referral customers now, so I made one up on Vistaprint last night. Once you get your card customized, before you go to checkout they plaster your image on a ton of other stuff that you can buy. T-shirts, hats, yard signs, car signs, calendars, etc...

In the spring I look forward to the ship a thon. While I won't have any quality birds to offer, I should have some interesting EE that are not your everyday EE...and some Narragansett and Golden Narragansett turkeys.
I am looking forward to it as well. I won't have any quality birds either, but should have some dark cornish cross eggs by then.

I found cage free brown eggs here at Walmrt for 3.47. I sell mine for 3.50.

Good luck!

I have had a lot of family that quit cold turkey and stuck it out.

I'm glad that ended well.

We are still on the same schedule right? I set 7 SLW eggs under that broody I talked about last week. Tried to break her in cool water 3 times with no success, so I'm putting her to work.

I'm sorry WV.

I lost one of my Marans yesterday in the outdoor brooder. Not sure why yet. It was a pullet of course.

The rest of them look healthy and happy so far.

man seems to be the weekend for it .I lost twelve week old ee pullet yesterday . My nice SLW roo is dragging his leg started limping two weeks ago. can't find what's wrong so I'll put him down soon I guess. Sidewing did you find anyone selling sq SLW eggs? I have several young roos out of him but their all related except for three my three nicest hens . I put the best one with those three and sell the rest. don't like the hens they came out of at all and really don't want to breed them at all .

I found one of my EE in the sale pen with both wings pulled through the chain link. He was pinioned, but he tucked his head between his legs and wasn't badly injured. It took a while to extricate him, though.

I do have some lined up to be delivered this month. If they don't work out I will hit you up.

I've also double wired. Some has the same chicken wire overlapped, some has the smaller wire. Works great to keep those pullets in place.

PS as far as humidity removal when your in a high climate I think Oz used rice, I actually have saved a bunch of those silica packets from newly purchased items, but havent had to use them yet!

They have them on ebay cheap too.... but I would be sure your calibrated before doing anything if you had not done so

All the tests I tried with rice did nothing, and I've not read about anyone else having any luck with rice either... until now.

What is snow?

This stuff that showed up on day 14 of my duck incubation, and almost ruined it!

Remember where my pens are now?

We are raising CXR right now and we have them in a free range situation. There is some limping, but no real leg or heart issues so far. This weekend is harvest time.

You can always sell them as dark egg layers right?

Sweet! Get to use the new plucker!

Goodness gracious! Glad he wasn't too badly injured...
