I kind of fell into this customer for the ducklings, i had posted my extra Cayuga drake for sale on CL, she called and asked if i had anymore of any birds that i could sell with him. I told her about the eggs in the bator and she wanted them All, i was shocked, and went on to question her... Sounds legit and like they have the equiptment, space, and know how so... Sold! lol! I have another friend who wants me to hatch for him, and theres a third man we have just met that plays at the auction a whole lot, cant wait to see how this relationship develops! Then theres my uncle, i talked him into more duck hens, but he wont get rid of any of his drakes, theyre SPECiaL :-/ still workin on him! I always try to keep any decent contacts i make, and i try to work with them as much as possible because those happy traders/customers have been the best buisness i can find. Ive been an entrepreneur all my life and so i had alot of buisness/marketing know how that i have applied here from jump. I would love to help anyone interested in furthuring their income oppurtunities! Im no guru or anything, but ive managed to almost stay afloat with my flock...

Yes, yes please! I need a way to be able to sell, so I can keep hatching and let my chickens hatch their own eggs in spring! This is my first year having chickens and I know I have a lot to learn! Sounds like you're doing a great job supporting the habit!!

Those hawks are vicious.  I couldn't believe the damage I saw one do in such a very short time.  We worked on the run all day today.  It's ready for chicken wire and doors.  I intend to get the wire tacked in place with a staple gun, then work my way around with the U staples to complete the job.  Gonna put a people door on the east and west sides, and will let them use the clean out door until I get a pop door built for them.

I love them! I will take pictures of my silkie hatchlings tomorrow! They are wiped out from their grand debut and have been sleeping since they hatched. Those multi-colored ones definitely look polish. Can you tell me the colors of the silkies?

Question: today is day 4, had the humidity randomly DROP while we went out for dinner. I left, it was at 34% like it's been for days (34-37%), get back 2 hours later and it's at 24%!! Just like all of a sudden *BAM* they sucked the moisture out of the air. And no one was around to lift the lid or anything, so not random interference! Is this normal for a Genesis?

I have a genesis and for my area I would say no. Definitely not. Never had it drop that much on me ever...

Did your water dry up? Or are you running without any water? If no water, then it shouldn't have dropped like that. Conditions where the incubator is located will affect it though. Drafts, lots of temp swings, direct sunlight, etc. Just some things to consider.

Hey guys. Sorry its been awhile. Trying to get stuff fixed and/or completed before snow flies and enjoying the last few nice days we have left.

Day 15 started last night. Candled my 34 duck eggs. It appears I have 14 duds, 13 quitters, 3 that I am unsure of and 4 active movers. Wish I knew how to post the video I took.

I bought them from a eBay seller who just said they were from here silkie/sizzle flock. Liked the look of her silkies so I bought the eggs. Your guess would probably better than mine on the colors.

Sounds like another not so great batch of eggs, sorry to hear that. I know in my flock the fertility goes down when summer starts cooling down. Good luck on the 4 good and 3 questionable!
