She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Are they putting him on steroids? I hope it works!! :fl for you!
Ok, so your humidity was on the higher end. That's what I would have assumed but was curious to see. You probably said this like 5 times so forgive me, but local or shipped?
It's about time!! ;)

No its an anti-inflammatory called Rimadyl. It's basically doggie ibuprofen or aspirin. Non steroidal. I hope it works for him. My poor pooch. It breaks my heart when he whines the way he does.

Local in the styrofoam. I didn't trust it enough to spend money on eggs lol. I haven't had the humidity issue in the cabinet.

Ok, got it! Do you have eggs going now?

I know! Seeing animals or babies in pain kills new! I hope it works! :hugs

I am using a sportsman 1550 cabinet bator a friend loaned me. After this hatch my new inc should be here. I'm definitely investing in a Brinsea my hubby said if he is gonna shell out$ for a cabinet Bator its not gonna be this one. It has not done so good. So hopefully by spring or summer I'll have my 1800.00 bator I want. Hatches 300 at a time. In the mean time I just bought me a little 48 egger. So I don't have any other thermometers in this one because I was trying it out.

the best incubator in the world has to be checked for proper calibration of thermometers and hygrometers . an egg shipper once told me bad hatches are caused by bad hatchers .I disagree with that statement, for many reasons. I also agree with that statement for one reason a bad hatcher to me is someone with experience and doesn't do what you should do with any incubator. and that is make sure that everything is working . also all monitoring devices are functioning properly . since the atmosphere around the incubator affects the atmosphere inside the incubator .it should be monitored as well. people on this thread have used the cheapest incubator and had good hatches. high or low humidity causes problems . extreme temperature highs and lows kill embryos. check check and recheck everything . good hatches don't just fall in your lap you must work for them .and man its a lot of work sometimes .good luck with your 48 egger .hope the first hatch is a good one .

So Nebo might just have arthritis. He is going to start some meds for 1 week then see how he does for the rest of the month. If the pain and whining return after that then we have to look at possible neurological issues especially since he has a muscle atrophy on his skull creating a sunken skull look on the right side. :fl. That's not the case and it's just arthritis.
poor baby I hope he feels better soon.

I have definitely learned a thing or two with this one. However, the boys dad had been hatching for years and did all the set up for me...I called him and he said they had the same problem. I'll be turning the turner back on tonight as everyone who was suppose to hatch this go around has done so. My friend has 6 new babies and I have 3 . we had 15 total on this tray. I lost 6 before I realized they were hatching. They were pipped in the side. I miscalculated the date and the turner was still on. Next hatch is due next Saturday and its all shipped egg, I've already lost half of them. I had several that didn't develop at all. So we will see how well we do with what is left.

I won't do any adjusting on the bator I'm borrowing; because I don't want to be resposible if it breaks. I'm new to hatching so I'm taking everything in. I hope the new smaller one will give me good hatches and more experience. The cabinet does ok but won't hold humidity well. It says 67% but my chicks are still shrink wrapping before they unzip all the way. If they had the same problem and they set it up....could it be them even though it's pre-set?? I don't want to pay 650$ for something I'm gonna keep having constant issues with. I've already paid him 150$ but told him to consider it rent/usage because of what it's doing and its not that old, but they set it up...all I have done is clean it when it first got here. Put eggs in, fill water, and use a wet cloth at hatch time to keep humidity up, my bantams have hatched wonderful, but have had to be assisted because of shrink wrapping. Even with higher humidity. Could it be reading the humidity wrong?? I've had 12 eggs shrinkwrap before I caught it and chicks died beak out totally glued in the shell. That's out of home stock. We won't talk about the shipped egg nightmare...that's not the Bator's fault!!! I had 3 of those die due to shrink wrapping, but mostly they just didn't develop...infertile/ quitters/addling/scrambled yolks on arrival, just to name a few.

400
All shipped eggs...all day 14 nothings...so dissapointed....collapsed air sacs/infertile / another leaker/ and exploded yolks.....ugh!! Dwindled my next two hatches down in the last 2 days..over half duds...hopefully I get something!!

Well I was about to go for a freedom run... (without kiddo in a stroller) after I got home from dropping the oldest off at school but....Stella was awake. So now she is eating breakfast and well I may just run with her afterall...unless daddy wakes I time!!

Lol, yep! Doc gave me one thing, was supposed to do another thing, but did this other thing. I'm not complaining though, I got stuff done, finally! Now it's wearing off and I'm going to bed.

Please never apologize for spending time away from anyone to spend time with your family. Especially parents with health issues.

I wish I could send more than hugs your way. Glad you are getting to spend some time with him! Keep it up!

My dad isn't doing too well, and hasn't been given too long(COPD etc.). Reality sets in more each day. We never had enough time together, and now life takes us from each other.
