Until the houses built up, they did shoot from our back door.
Still lots of hunting places around though.

Oh, yeah. Heck, I've shot deer from my back deck right here in Frederick Co., more than once.Until the houses built up, they did shoot from our back door.

So I have 3 rambunctious chicks out! And 4 more pips. 1 egg pipped wrong side and 1 chick is trying to bust out of the pointy end! I think I'm going to move the chicks to the brooder, so I can keep an eye on these 4 pips. This has been a busy night and only half way over!! I hope all the pips make it! Plus the other two look good and rocking but no pips yet! Going really good for shipped eggs!!
That was my next question- what would be causing it in home eggs.It is usually the cause and often with shipped eggs.
I do not know what is happening with the eggs that are not shipped, maybe the hen is laying eggs that are not complete.
Fairly they are only 5 months old. Most of them started laying in the last 4-6 weeks. I'm almost 100% positive all three are from the same pullet cause I only have two that are laying white eggs (that I know of) and one of those are the spitz that went broody 3 days ago and she isn't laying anything, so it would have to be from the other one that is laying white eggs, which is one of the mixes. Hopefully it's only a matter of maturation and it'll fix itself. Is it a new layer?
There goes the feed bill!
That's awesome! congrats! Beautiful!
