She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Actually, I wondered about that. When she'd posted about the 5th time I started to climb her tree, then thought better of it. Then, before I could get my reply cancelled, the page filled up with nonsensical garbage for a few seconds, then went away.

Yeah, someone said here yesterday that they thought it was probably a troll, but I thought it was just a lost striper. That was a very odd way to troll

What was really weird was when she found her way onto a "chicken site" & started seeking advice on how to impress her boyfriend. That sent up red flags for me from the get-go. Sounds to me like a kid with too much time on her hands, in an unsupervised environment, looking to stir up trouble for something to do & tell her buddies about.

Probably the best approach, should something similar ever happen again, would be to simply flag them w/o even bothering to reply to them.

Well?

Need to combine the first one and the second one. (eta - missed the + and = signs!) Perfect!

I thought it was a striper wanting attention.

I wasn't planning on selling my superb year and a half old Golden Narragansett tom, but I am a born trader. I put Scooter, Baby, and a nice Standard Bronze hen up on the local Facebook poultry swap page, and it looks like they will have a new home come Friday. Son of Scooter and the Oregon Gray will be the "herd sires", and I'll keep half a dozen or so of the best hens for next year's breeders. I'm also scouting for nice White Holland or breeder quality BBW to mate with the Oregon Gray tom.
He is gorgeous!
It was that 8 second thing, huh :gig
:lau
Up to 8 hatches and 14 pips!
See! I told you!! :yesss:
Ugh, so my husband has his heart set on getting some Silkies come Jan/Feb... Be it hatching eggs or chicks, he doesn't care. And here he called me crazy for wanting 4 specific breeds for egg colors/rarity/cuteness (bantam), now he wants silkies for broodiness and "poof-balls" for the acreage. :hu
What colors are you guys interested in getting?
This is the guy who thought I was crazy for wanting to raise and hatch chickens. He's fallen head over heels in love with them and keeps looking for more breeds to add to our "collection". I don't know what emoticon to use... So I'll use multiple to show how i feel! :woot for getting him on board with the chicken thing, :lau because he thought I was crazy for wanting chickens and now look at him, :love just watching him with the baby chicks (he nursed one sick one back to health and put forth a bunch of effort to see him thru when I had pretty much given up!), :smack for wanting just as many breeds as I did/do... but not the same ones I want!! He's got a list beyond silkies... But silkies first according to him. He's really jumped into chicken parenthood with both feet. Helping me with the brooder, the coop, and he's sketching up plans for a larger, nicer coop too.
Your actually really lucky to have a "chicken partner"! I think that's awesome that you guys can share it!
I have been looking for a new home for them for over a month. And if I drive all the way I can get two hens in exchange. So not a complete waste. Just not looking forward to the return trip.
Sounds like a good deal. Good luck on the road trip!!
I moved my last batch of BCM pullets to the big coop on Sunday, and it has been cold and rainy for 2 days. They have a roof, but the ground is wet from runoff. I checked them this morning, and all are still fine
I moved my 3 & 4 week old chicks outside into a section of the run that I blocked off. But they are not integrated with the flock yet, so no sleeping in the coop. They have the mama heating pad cave and those dummies huddle up in the corner at night and not underneath it!! I have to go out there after dark and get a net to reach them and put each one under the heating pad. Our temps are going into the 30's at night! Stupid chicks. Last night was night #3, I keep :fl that I don't wake up to any frozen chicks!
I swear, I think my silkies enjoy the mud. They have, by far, the driest pen with the most roof, and they still wind up out in the rain. My wife bought me one of those hats with LED lights in the bill yesterday. That thing is just the ticket for minding the pens in the dark before and after work :thumbsup
I have one of those! Good idea! Mine is not actually a hat, just a light on a sorta head band that you wear but same concept. Wish I thought of it last night when I was in the dark trying to catch chicks in the run!

My husband is on that same train. He was not convinced and a bit miffed when I brought home chicks. Then I brought home a rooster. After that he got involved because he would check on the girls after work. His next step was asking for a ridiculous looking Polish which lead us to Monty. He is also interested in the BLRW after seeing them at a festival and AC because of the odd color. He's starting to warm up to it and has even offered to assist when I make the incubator. The only thing he is really questioning is if I hatch eggs who will take all the chicks.

My son wants some silkies but I don't know if I should allow all kids to pick a breed. We'd be up to our ears in chicks and the neighbors would probably revolt. We need a fence next. They will never know then....

Congrats on all your peeps!

I took some good pictures of Monty last night. Sadly, he was inside his house after dark so I don't have any 'doghouse' chicken pictures. I'll have to post them later as I forgot my camera has a special cable instead of a mini-usb.

I hate that about some electronics.
