Don't worry; we'll never admit to knowing how to run a vacuum or dishwasher, either.

Has anyone else heard of this? Seems interesting: http://www.thepoultrysite.com/poultrynews/34741/germany-aims-for-chicken-sexing-in-the-egg-by-2016/
That sucks. Hope you figure it out. Given that he's staying away from the rest of the flock, it may be punkin.Ok, serious problem. Something is wrong with my big rooster Big Guy. When hubby arrived at camp, he noticed Big Guy was off by himself, hanging around the house, while the rest of the flock was down by the coop. He said he was kinda droopy but he threw him some scratch and he seemed ok.
When I got here, it was dark and they were already in the coop, but we found Big Guy on top of the run. Dont know why he didn't go in before the door closed.
So we took him inside the building and his comb is bloody looking, and down around his crop I found a bunch of broken feathers and its all red. One leg is scraped up too.
So I assume he got into a fight, but does this sound like a fight with Punkin, the #2 rooster, or a fight with a predator? We locked him in the building for the night, so I'll see how he is in the morning.
Very cool! Humans are quite amazing sometimes, aren't we?

Yep, that's exactly what happened. The bloody comb and crop is a dead giveawayGood point. Punkin might have won the girls over, and taken top spot.

Maybe he'll accept being #2 and will integrate back in being lower in the pecking order? (I hope)Dangit. Now I'll have to figure out what to do with him. He's probably close to 4 years old.
