She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Walnut Hill, was it you who had the chicken sausage recipe? If so, will you share?

It was tomato and basil chicken sausage. Good stuff, and a good use for surplus roos, cockerels and stew hens because a grinder makes them very tender.

I am traveling this week...in and out for the first couple of days, then gone through Monday.

I want to experiment with chicken and bacon sausage with red onions and mozzarella cubes. Grill it up, put it in a bun and drizzle with BBQ sauce, and have a BBQ chicken pizza sandwich!

That sounds really good. I buy a chicken sausage with bacon and pineapple - Love it in a sweet & sour stir fry!

Chester ain't as bad as Earl. that was the name of a 2yr old Jack Russell we were given by a lady who had to keep him crated all day. He had the run of the house & 3 acres here for the rest of his life, til we buried him a year ago; he was about 14-15, near as I can tell.
LOL Funny thing- according to the shelter he is Jack Russel Terrier/Corgie mix. I'm assumming that info comes up whe they scan the chip, cause I can't see where he looks JRT...lol I never had an animal that was chipped before so I have no idea what info comes up.
That's a nice ending to the story and his life.

Amy, if you want to change his name, go ahead. Everything else is new and you said he doesn't answer to it anyway. Call him whatever you like and give him a treat, he'll learn it very quickly.

No, he doesn't. He does show attention to whistling but that's about all.

Dudley does pretty well so far with his smashed face, but I figure he will have issues later in life. He's only 4.

Whatever your boy's name is, he's adorable! Love the tongue sticking out, that's funny. hahaha!

I always like to give a dog a bit of time to let a name suit him. The right one will come to you.

My MinPin had been named Peanut when I bought him, 3 months old. He was not a Peanut to me. He needed a masculine name, he was so stout! I named him Jake. I had him for over 12 years.

Dudley came from the Duh look on his face all the time. Duh-dley. Lmao!
lol Hey, my cat's name was Peanut. I rescued her at about 1 week old and she was a Peanut. Fought hard to keep her alive. She was a peanut right up to earlier this year when I finally got her fixed. She's not a Peanut anymore...lol she's 2 1/2. Here's her as a baby taking her bottle:

X2.

My dogs are rescues, too. We have no idea what their names were "before" so we just gave them a new name, new house, new rules, etc. Kindness and consistency helps them adjust to their new situation, and they really like having a structure and routine.

Congratulations! He's really cute.
That's great.

I'm betting he latches onto that son of yours like a second skin, and be sharing the bed with him b4 the week's out.
Cayden would love it if he would learn to get on the bed and snuggle. lol

Most dogs need a little time to adjust. He needs to know he's safe and in a new home, not just another temporary situation. Who knows what he's been through in his life.

When I got Bo, he wouldn't come out of his crate for the first day. I called the rescue, thinking he might be sick. She told me that he needed to feel safe before he opened up to people, and not to push him. (He had been dumped in the desert and was out there a long time before being picked up.) In a few days we started obedience training and he blossomed with positive reinforcement!

Keep an eye on the way he moves. JR's were originally developed in England, where they were used in fox hunting. They'd jump up onto the front of the saddle, from the ground, & ride there til the fox "went to ground", then the hunter would release the dog to run the fox out of the den so they could continue the chase, & the dog would jump back onto the horse again...saves having to get down & gather up the dog every time.. At 8 yrs old, your dog may be getting a little stiff in the rear and no longer able to jump very well, or he may have been forbidden to jump onto the beds early on.. I've never done it, but I'm told a baby aspirin helps to loosen them up.

I sold my first two pullets today!! $20 each! A dad and his 3 pre-teen daughters were going gaga for the silkies. Very nice family. His daughters were in love with the two little pullets. I was sad when I was packing them up and then felt better after I saw how nice the family was. Then I bought 2 silkie hens today!! One is 12 months and the other is 18 months old. Both are laying but the previous owners don't think they are fertile. So hopefully one of my cockerels will figure out how to do the deed soon and I will have fertile eggs! They are in quarantine now but PO said they were house pets and lived In the guest bedroom and have not touched soil. Can that be for real?? Do you think they still need a full month quarantine? Here's a pic:
400

I would. I would also watch for cocci....since they lived indoors and had no contact with dirt and possible poop.

Congratulations! I prefer duck eggs to chicken eggs. I wish others would agree as I have 5 dozen on the table :/
Besides the obvious size difference personally I think they are slightly sweeter and fluffier when you make scrambled eggs. Made some amazing quiches with duck eggs.
Congratulations on the pip!

That just sounds good!!! I can't wait till we get wood duck egg this spring!!

Thats just ross' way of putting a barn door where only a window was needed ;)

Sorry.....I didn't mean to get the playground condemned. I feel bad. I got a spanking via message.

I've been busy all day and found it shut down . I thought It just got a slap .sent Ravyn a email to ask why :idunno

Sorry.....yet again. :(

@AmyLynn2374 Cute puppy!!!! (Old man dog) hahaha!!!! I call all dogs pupps. Lol!!! I am so glad you rescued!!! It breaks my heart to walk into a shelter. I wish I could take them all home.

I agree. I was just thinking a bit ago that while he's got a good temperment that it doesn't seem like he's been loved and snuggled and just played with like a dog should be. I told Cayden that I think in a week or two he will be more comfortable and relaxed and "come out of his shell". He just needs time to learn to trust and feel comfortable here.

I was wondering about his backside as well, especially with his age.

Oh, I know. I felt so bad leaving the little female poodle mix there. She so wanted to out. If she wasn't such a barker we probably would have went with her. She was fixed and I think 7 years. A little more outgoing.
