She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I agree. I was just thinking a bit ago that while he's got a good temperment that it doesn't seem like he's been loved and snuggled and just played with like a dog should be. I told Cayden that I think in a week or two he will be more comfortable and relaxed and "come out of his shell". He just needs time to learn to trust and feel comfortable here.

I was wondering about his backside as well, especially with his age.

If he doesn't become a snuggler, don't stress over it. Our dog was 8 months old when we adopted him from Michigan Humane Society. He was feral...a runner...no rules, no respect, and a firm no touch policy. He was not the best candidate for a dog to bring home for two kids.

He is 9 now. He will still run off whenever he can slip through the door. He still will not snuggle. He will sneak up on beds and rumple pillows, and he loves back scratches. But he will never kiss and never snuggle and turns away if we "invade his space" too much. We will not bring in a new dog while he is alive, because we don't want him to impart his bad habits that we cannot break, but we love him nonetheless.

A family came by to take a look at the turkeys, and their little girl ran up and kissed his face and ears. Surprise...he didn't move away, he offered a paw, he laid on his side and almost rolled over. I just do not understand that dog. White Castles, Pupperoni, rides and walks he will debase himself for. Other than that, he is usually aloof.

I sold my first two pullets today!! $20 each! A dad and his 3 pre-teen daughters were going gaga for the silkies. Very nice family. His daughters were in love with the two little pullets. I was sad when I was packing them up and then felt better after I saw how nice the family was. Then I bought 2 silkie hens today!! One is 12 months and the other is 18 months old. Both are laying but the previous owners don't think they are fertile. So hopefully one of my cockerels will figure out how to do the deed soon and I will have fertile eggs! They are in quarantine now but PO said they were house pets and lived In the guest bedroom and have not touched soil. Can that be for real?? Do you think they still need a full month quarantine? Here's a pic:

House chickens or house ducks are becoming very popular... is likely that could be true... however... still do your full quarantine... just cuz they haven't been on soil does not mean they have never been exposed to disease... look healthy, but do not risk your birds... PO's could have visited someone's sick flock and came home to handle them... j/s... always better safe than sorry...

I like to put a splash of milk in the bowl with the raw chicken egg, stir it good, then put it in the nuker for about 1:30. The milk seems to enhance the fluffiness & keeps cooked egg from sticking so bad on the bowl. Wife thinks I'm nuts but it works for me & don't mess up a skillet.

I always add milk when I cook scrambled eggs... can't eat them any other way, lol...

WTH?  I go to Canada for a weekend, come back and the playground is closed, and everyone seems to have gone to bed.

Fine, gonna go make more breakfast sausage...

Congrats on the dog, Amy!  He'll take to a new name, now is the best time.

Playground will stay closed... I've seen that happen for a lot less... :/

I've been busy all day and found it shut down . I thought It just got a slap .sent Ravyn a email to ask why :idunno

Too many windows and barn doors... :duc

He is adorable... had a Corgi/GSD mix when I was little... her name was Football, lol...
Mixes usually have less issues with joints than pures, my Dingo/Heeler is 14 now and only this year has he started showing his age...
If you do feel he is having aches, get him on glucosamine... it helps tons and won't cause issues in the kidneys...

Yes, they do have higher occurances of breathing issues. We had a dog that had a pug look- no pug in her and she had breathing issues. Of course it didn't help that she was my mom's baby and she would feed her table scraps constantly and she was over weight. Like a balloon on legs. That one I have never heard. Ok, here's a couple pics of him on his pillow: I didn't realize he was sticking his tongue out at me when I took the pic in this next one:
He's gorgeous! He reminds me of my girl!

So, I did a quick development check on the Call eggs... started with 31... all 16 eggs from our new group weren't fertile... but Lady Grey's are and so are the shipped ones... so 8/12 shipped Calls and 3 of Lady Grey's eggs are developing...

Oh, and Lady Grey didn't lay an egg yesterday, or again today... picked her and Crash up tonight to bring them in and an egg fell out of Lady Grey at my feet, right into the rocks, lol...

What!!!!! They do that!!??? I have never had anything like that happen before with chickens.

hard to remember where we are sometimes when we're having fun . also what seems harmless to some others find offensive .

you just never know. if fear of offending others rules the world then nothing would ever be said . I for one refuse to live like that . I always try to consider others .it's helps to keep my foot out of my mouth . but am not going to let it rule my life.So every once in a while I have to stop and pull out afoot or two besides I need them to walk . now some chick pictures not good though.

this one left the hatching party early

She was being super picky about where she wanted to lay her egg today... kept finding spots and making nests, but wouldn't lay it... guess she held it in too long and when she relaxed in my hands it literally fell right out... :gig

Oh, WV scared a shelless egg outta 1 of her new laying pullets the other day... stranger things have happened, lol...

So ducks aren't big on laying their eggs in the same place every day, like we hope our chickens do?

Ducks are awful about where they lay... sometimes you can get them to lay in special boxes, but not always... if they lay before being let out in the morn, you know where to look... otherwise they will either lay them anywhere they're at or they will hide and even bury them... I know someone just found out hers were laying in their pond, lol...
Lady Grey usually picks 1 of 2 spots, but just wasn't happy with any spot today...
