She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ok, I know some breeds you can tell at hatch, so I thought there might be a way with the AC's! Lol. I read about vent sexing and tried it on two chicks that hatched. Before anyone freaks out....I didn't really do it. I just looked real close, pushed around the belly a little (very gently) while looking to see if anything stuck out. kinda how you check a rabbit. I just did it for fun to see if my guesses were right. I wrote down 1 girl and 1 boy. Well when they grew up the opposite was true! So I blew a 50/50 shot on both of them!! I ordered a DNA test kit for 2 important chicks I have. I'd like to know now what they are for future planning. It's either $12 or $15 a chick (silkies take forever to sex) and I'm really excited to do it!
That's right, thanksgiving! I already had forgotten that! Can't wait till the hatch. You have to give me all the details. What have you been running for humidity? Now that I have some grown hens around, I need to go buy some oyster shell. Surprisingly they were on the exact same food type & brand that mine are on, so no change for them there. I put FF and grit in their cage today and they picked at both. They are being very talkative across the yard, back and forth with my chickens. It's pretty comical.
I like that story. Glad he ended up with you. My aunt had bought one JR puppy and she was the sweetest dog in the world. We used to joke around and call her "cat-dog" because she just wanted to lay in your lap and be pet. I used to watch her whenever they went on vacations. Best dog ever. So they decided to buy another one. A boy JR. He was a terror! He'd bite and destroy the whole house! Really wild, crazy dog. They found a farm for him to go live on, after they could not tame him. Two polar opposites.
The names are kinda similar, so I think he'll take to buster easy. I like that one better too.
I've been chatting with this man that I bought the hens from, via email. He has 90-100% hatch rate on shipped eggs with a hova-bator 1588. I asked what his secret was and he said that hatching in these trays made him go from 60% up to 90-100% each batch.

Just thought that was interesting so wanted to pass it on.

I think I have the yellow ones `that are in the first picture .I think Ravyn has them too not sure though . I think humidity has been hurting my success all year what was 27% this morning In the GQF hatcher is now up to 37%.I'm thinking of stopping turning today on my next hatch . well it will be the last for a little while . I've decided not to hatch again until I get one Of the GQF incubators going . I've been spraying disinfection spray in it for four days and it still smells really bad.

Read a long time ago about a Chevy dealer that had a new 'Vette that an old man had bought from them, took it on a hunting trip, died in it, and wasn't found for three weeks due to the snow. They stripped the entire interior & sandblasted it; still never got the smell out of it.
Sure hope you have better results.

only one way take it apart ,I've taken the back off need to pull the fan and turner .wash it all down with one to two bleach to water. and then wash it all with hydrogen peroxide . then clean water and that gets the smell out. Its a job though you have to stick your nose close to clean it good and Its rough for the bleaching . I'm HAVING A GOOD TIME

. I have found something to make it mouse proof . a stainless steel screen out of a dish washer is now covering the vents in the hatcher . no more mice and no flies think I said this before the OH won't let me hatch in the house any more . can't brood the little biddies in the kitchen any more either . and this is the woman I saw cut open her dog to see why it died

That's 1 thing I haven't mastered yet, riding the bike, lol. I've been trying to get my husband to get me a bike so I can learn but we haven't found 1 I like that we can actually afford yet. I would try to learn on his but it's pretty heavy and I want to learn on something not quite so top heavy. It's an 87 Honda CBR 1000 Hurricane. All those older crotch rockets were heavy as hell. I'm looking for something like a newer Yamaha R6 or maybe a Ninja 636 or something. I always liked the sport bikes myself.

If you like the sport bike/crotch rocket style, pick up a used Ninja. They are cheap and very easy to resell when you are ready to move up. Quick enough to be fun, but powered just right to learn with confidence.

My husband is a learner, so I sold my Magna and we bought a pair of Honda CRF250Ls. They are street legal dirt bikes. They top out around 78 mph, but they go anywhere a motorcycle can go. We put 1200 miles on this season. They are tons of fun for a little one cylinder.

Who takes a Vette on a hunting trip, lol

Yeah, I've about had enough of brooding inside too. Things that small and cute should not smell so bad and make such a horrific mess, lol. Good luck on the cleaning and get a respirator, lol

Get a few bottles of vinegar... pour it straight all over in it a few times... not as noxious as bleach...

Yeah, I looked at alot of Ninja 500's. I like the newer 1's that actually look like the bigger Ninjas. Honda makes a CBR 500 now too that I really like. If I'm not mistaken I think they started making a 250 too.

friend who cleans rental apartments said also use baking soda but the first two will do it. Been meaning to tell you one and one eights tensioner straps will fasten green house bows to the top of your dog kennel .should go inside the pipe with a pressure treated wood spacer drill the pipe and bolt through should do it . I use top rail flattened in a vise on the end bolted to the tensioner to make covers for mine covered with poultry netting .
