Ok, so here's my little guy today. It's pox, ain't it...

Gave the guy 2 other little roos, and my little Japanese girl, but kept this one for further evaluation. He said he'd take him anyway, but I should watch him for a while.

The way it's encrusted around his ear makes me think mites... there is a type of mite that looks like scabs... if you scrape a bit off does it crush rusty colored?

I haven't tried to scrape any off because I figured that would be bad. I could go try it though?

Pictures of pox I've seen look much, much worse. Even if it is, isn't it treatable?

Not treatable, but not usually high mortality... give vitamins and electrolytes to supplement and help them ride it out...

From what I've read, and others have said, pox will run its course in a few weeks if its just "dry" pox. Wet is more serious, but he seems fine overall. Eating and drinking.

Scrape a bit off, put it on white paper and crush while smearing it... need to see if it looks like dried blood with bits...
