Hey guys, so I have some updates! I organized my cubby, moved some of the flower pots under the balcony, got a few new cacti, refreshed the prop station, and started an herb garden! I moved the African Violet into my more humid bathroom and watered it, and it is much better! Unfortunately the blooms on my hyacinths got killed by the cold. On the plus side a lot of the trees here are blooming!

I have an African Violet that isn’t doing so well. Any care tips?View attachment 4054930
Hey there! I know this is an older post, and that you’ve moved Mr.Violet and he’s already doing better (yay!) but I just came to add a tip my Momma told me! She went to a class when she was in her twenties (a whole African violet convention, actually! 😂)
Anyways, they HATE water to touch their leaves! Now don’t get me wrong, they love water… just not on their leaves! They are super picky!! If you’ll water directly on the soil, apparently it makes for a happier plant! I’ve never tried growing one, so I’m certainly no expert, but we’ve had one for years and years that Momma has always taken care of, and Praise The Lord, it’s always been a pretty happy little fella! I hope this helps!
Happy growing!

🌻 Here are a few hints on how to tell the difference from a Jerusalem artichoke and a wild sunflower.
🌻 Jerusalem artichokes have a yellow center and there will be no seeds.
🌻 Sunflowers have a darker center, where teeny, tiny seeds are.
🌻 While the seeds look very similar, a wild sunflower will not produce an edible tubers.

✨️ We have a lovely seed blog that includes:
⚠️Partial POISONOUS/TOXIC pet plant list
🐈 🐕 Partial pet friendly plant list.
🌿 Vegetables
🌿 Herbs with some exotics 🌿
🌸 And flowers
We still stick by zone 9 here at the "city farm" homestead headquarters
North 66th Place
Mesa, Arizona U.S.A.
Zone 9 a or b means temperatures will vary due to elevation or valleys on our terra firma, which can mean a difference of a week or 2 planting times. Zone 8 is a month behind us and so on.

(by the end of today all the planting guides will be uploaded/updated on the website/social media)
Mission, map and disclaimers are there as well.

I've not grown them in years, but I recall not getting water on the leaves as someone else mentioned, watering from the bottom/saucer, and also placing it in either a northern or eastern exposure, nothing direct sun.
