Shell less duck egg with broken yolk next to it

Glad you got some extra calcium into her, and extra love is always good!
x2!
The double-yolkers is another bit to be added into all this... I know many who love to get them, but those are also hard on a birds reproductive system...
I love to eat them, but hate the added stress they put on the bird.
I would keep track of those as well... maybe set up a laying chart about her...
A chart is a great idea. So far it's a bunch of normal eggs, then two double yolkers, one of which was followed by the yellow soft shelled? and three other soft-shelled eggs?

I don't care for twice the yolk, lol... but I really don't like the stress on the bird, or that if they continue to lay double-yolkers it effectively cuts the amount of eggs they lay in their lifetime in half... thus why so many production birds 'burn out' at a young age...

Does not continue to happen after a Hens reproductive system settles...Lol..It is normal though and no need for concern...also zero stress to the Bird...

One of my peahens laid perfect eggs her first laying year, then started laying doubles mid second year, and I lost her to a repro-tract infection. :(

@onaharley , note that I'm not saying you're going to lose your hen, I just wanted to share my only real double yolk story.

Thank you all, seriously!! I'm getting such great insight in all of this. I love the chart idea, I'll make one and show you in the morning. It might be able to show you all more info that I am lacking since my mind is well, like a scrabbled egg.....lol
I know how you feel. I look forward to seeing your chart!

I think that's a great idea. I don't have ducks, but you have gotten some very good advice here from people I trust. I hope you can get your girl back laying normally again soon.
