Shell less duck egg with broken yolk next to it

what ever choice for feeding eggs is up to you... Eggs raw tend to tempt chickens to be egg eaters.... I do not know if the same is true for ducks.

A friend takes the eggs breaks up the egg shells and scrambles it all and cooks shells and all. No salt and very little oil. Though I suspect this delicacy would only tempt chickens.

Cooking makes them not associate the eggs with their own eggs.... and kills bacteria, viruses, etc... my ducks won't eat eggs, just shells when the girls are laying, lol...

So no 3pm egg!! :celebrateI am super happy for everyone's help in this matter. I have learned a lot throughout this whole ordeal. I am still going to keep my egg chart up to date daily and monitoring her activities. Today she seemed pretty active, through they don't really like being separated I want to say that it is benefiting more then she and I think......lol Today and on Tuesday I let them both out to mingle in back yard while I cleaned their pen, I think they enjoyed that:yesss:

I am very thankful for this place and can't wait to see what new adventures these ducks bring me!!

So all was going good.....until today!

This morning I got 2 hard shelled eggs @ 5:30am..... they both were very warm. She could have been setting on her nest and got off because I came out.... So on Monday evening I did not check her nest for another egg. She got to free range on Monday and there was no 3pm egg in her fav spot....so I figured she didn't lay one, plus I got really side tracked on Monday evening b/c the DH was putting in electrical plugs in for heated buckets. So back to today...

I had lots to do after work and didn't get home until 7:45pm tonight. DH finished up electrical job and let the ducks free range while he work in the pen. I came home and he told me...BTW there's a soft egg in her pen. I gear up and head out to do clean up. And yes there was one soft shelled egg(broken by the time I got out there of course) and then I see what looks to be another soft shell egg broken. This one is WAY smaller then all the others. So 2 soft eggs...

So what gives.....4 eggs in one day?!?

I have been giving her kale every morning, free choice of OS, changed her feed to purina layer feed on nov 25 along with giving calcium pills and I stop doing the calcium pills November 30th

Thoughts?
