Shell less duck egg with broken yolk next to it

So all was going good.....until today!

This morning I got 2 hard shelled eggs @ 5:30am..... they both were very warm. She could have been setting on her nest and got off because I came out.... So on Monday evening I did not check her nest for another egg. She got to free range on Monday and there was no 3pm egg in her fav spot....so I figured she didn't lay one, plus I got really side tracked on Monday evening b/c the DH was putting in electrical plugs in for heated buckets. So back to today...

I had lots to do after work and didn't get home until 7:45pm tonight. DH finished up electrical job and let the ducks free range while he work in the pen. I came home and he told me...BTW there's a soft egg in her pen. I gear up and head out to do clean up. And yes there was one soft shelled egg(broken by the time I got out there of course) and then I see what looks to be another soft shell egg broken. This one is WAY smaller then all the others. So 2 soft eggs...

So what gives.....4 eggs in one day?!?

I have been giving her kale every morning, free choice of OS, changed her feed to purina layer feed on nov 25 along with giving calcium pills and I stop doing the calcium pills November 30th

One of the 2 hard shelled eggs from the morn was probably from the day/evening before... sometimes they sit for a while before laying their egg, so it could easily have been rewarmed up by her body temp...

But still not good... I think I would resume the calcium pills, but check with @casportpony about that...

I am afraid she may just have an irregular/malfunctioning reproductive system though... :(

Sad they bred Pekins to produce so many eggs no wonder they can having laying issues.
No one figured they would end up so loved as pets. They were suppose to be food and eggs only. lol

If you don't care about getting eggs, there are options about inhibiting her ability to lay the vet might be able to do... cost might be high though...
