Shell-less Egg with Cartilage

Found this odd egg in the laying box this evening. Anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be and what could be causing it? The solid bits felt like cartilage after further inspection. Newbie here but thankful for this community!

Did you cut into the solid bits? If they were the consistency of cheese, it's likely lash material caused by salpingitis, a reproductive tract infection. Do you know which hen laid it?
