Shelless egg

Well, this was very interesting. Scrooge was the only one that shoed her away. But thats scrooge hence his name. Darkwing the alpha female went after lucky my wounded female and guess who broke it up? :eek:Ostara!!! She cooed her gorgeous coo and darkwing got right off her neck. :lau i was impressed! Yikes I'm curious if the pecking order will change. undecided how to proceed. I really dont look forward to catching her to put her in the coop. Was thinking maybe leave plucky and scrooge out of the coop. Dont know if I'd put both of them in the little coop together though. Scrooge is more dominant.

I'd just leave her out with them all sounds like she can hold her own.

Is plucky and scrooge both drakes? Not sure I'd let them loose inside with the females especially Lucky but leaving them outside is probably not a good idea either.

I let them be together for a little while. Howard made her bow to him. Im not sure what that was all about. Everyone still is on the defensive. Except for lucky and ostara. Yes plucky and scrooge are Drakes. Unfortunately i had to catch her and give her some safety and comfort of her coop. She was on the defense. Gonna keep doing my rotations. It seems to be working slowly on their terms not mine.

You should've seen them when I swapped the door on the coop. I had back issues and it kills me being bent in the coop so I flipped the door so it was a straight shot in and out for me but I couldn't get them in. Haha one at a time. I flipped their whole world upside down. Then I couldn't get them out had to toss corn. Haha same thing with the food and water i tried putting it on the left side in their coop. Omg that was too much. These guys are creatures of habit for sure. :lau

So funny they really don't like change at all.

You doing it all the right way for your flock. Sounds like things are progressing well hopefully by Sunday she'll really feel part of the flock. Sure hope so. And doing the rotations is really moving the pecking order around some too. Look forward to hearing how it all goes tomorrow!

well friends,
Great news, i let ostara out and I actually had to say come on when i opened the gate. She stuck close and observed. Then she went in the river and stayed with my other ducks. She is so excited! I am too. She even came back up and went in the coop all by herself. She is sticking close by. Im very happy. Thank you all so much for helping me thru this process, i couldnt have done it without you! On another note...sadly im running out data lol. If you don't see me for a few days thats why. Im very happy. :wee
Hope tonight goes well, I have a good feeling she will go back in the pen for me at least.:celebrate

Well, i put lucky and ostara together all day and they scared the eggs out of each other i had two shelless eggs with cord attached to one. They were broke open. I cleaned them up so it doesn't attract predators since pluckys by himself in the pen. Oh boy...
I am sorry.....am just getting an alert for this thread and I see that I am like 3 page behind,

My only mistake was letting lucky out too she came home alone and was slightly bleeding on the top of her head. I sprayed vetricin on her and she is closed up. Poor girl i should've known better. I'll put the vetricin on her a few times today and unfortunately she's gonna be alone for a little while. I just dont want her getting depressed and pulling her feathers out. I'm mad at myself she was doing so much better. Crap!

Well it's done now so just get her better again. You could put those that get along with her in with her for a day rotate them, I think you were doing that anyway? She'll get over being separated and once she is 100% you'll be happy again for her. Drakes can really tear them up.

Yes that's what i was doing before ostara. I'll get her better again. Still undecided about how to put them in for the night. I almost want to put lucky in ostaras coop and put her with the rest id probably leave plucky in the pen like I have been. With warmer weather coming I hope to put him in with the rest soon.
