Comb sexing is not really accurate in my experience. I had Barred Rock pullets that had combs that red at that age. I knew they were female only by their barring pattern. However, if you see long thin hackle and saddle feathers come in, you'll know it's a boy for sure.Im not sure but judging by pictures, maybe? I’ve never owned any chicken other than RIRs and they’re not even heritage. I do know, however, that pullet combs don’t redden until they’re about to lay and they’re down is completely gone. Unless there are breeds that go against that.
