AH! I was hoping that was the answer. Pretty, pretty calf. Glad someone in the US is raising them.

There's someone nearby that raises them, but I don't. The sale barn pays the most for solid black steers. Anything with spots is heavily discounted (and spots is dominant as far as crossbreeding goes). Otherwise I would have a few, just cause they're so pretty.

One of these days I'm gonna get around to changing my avatar pic to one of my own animals. Back when I first joined BYC I didn't know how to upload pics from my camera to my computer so I picked this adorable pic off of the internet...

I just bought a shorthorn bull to save my red herd because otherwise we breed to black. Funny thing though: last year's black bull threw everything from red and white patterned to black, but only about 15% black. I think there's a shortage of real Angus bulls out there after all the "Black Angus Beef" branding.
