She's just sitting around doing nothing - UPDATE pg. 3

Thank you all for helping me out. You've given me great advice that I'll use in the future, since I can't do it now. Gabby died last night. She was suffering, she was starving, and I couldn't help her out fast enough. Her death was natural - I didn't do it. I confess I did ask Him to take her, because I "couldn't do it." And He answered my prayer and did. In fact I was expecting her to be gone this morning. She was a good hen, and was very sweet. Lacy (one of my SLW) is missing her, and was hanging around the place I have the body until my dad digs the grave later. (He's in bed now because he got home from work really early this morning.)

I know it may seem heartless, but I am not really phased by this. Like I said before, I'm getting calloused. :|

I appreciate all the time you've spent helping me and all you've done to help me out in this time.

I'll use the info if/when another chicken gets this.

Just reading these posts with great interest because I have a chicken with exactly the same problems right now. I just couldn't figure out the squishy crop because I'd never felt such a thing before. I'm going to try to yoghurt today. Thanks for that link to the 'crop info' site. I'll post my results later.

Seeing a once happy being in pain never gets one ounce easier for me - sometimes I wish I was a bit calloused because it's really hard to feel their suffering so deeply - - but hopefully this keeps me on my toes to try to prevent a problem or solve it quickly if one arises.
