"So Sophie's been back again, has she?  I guess she's still here after all." he said, realizing that it had been a ghost.  "You remember when I told you about her, right?  She was my Girl Friend before I found you.  When those pirates attacked her ship, she died, but she didn't leave; she's been hanging around me for almost a year now."  He could sense her jealousy and added, "Don't worry, she still likes me, but she's not going to try to posses you or anything and steal me back.  She just wants to find a way to get back into life, and she's actually interested in one of my friends.  I've been trying to help her with limited success, but now that we have you and the others I think we can do it."  A brief gust of cold wind blew through the room and whispered in a clearly feminine voice, "I know you can do it."

Jadyn kissed Seth on the cheek, resting her head on his shoulder. "I'm willing to help you."

Medics quickly rushed around, and about 3 of them ushered James out. The orders and demands could be heard through the door, then silence.

"It's okay, Mali. He's okay."

Mali's reply could not clearly be heard.

"You're not well enough, Mali!" He snapped.

Mali's frustrated mutter was heard.

"You should be able to leave in three days, if you don't flatline again."

Mali's sigh could be heard.

James paced outside the door, ignoring the increased bleeding on his chest and arm.

Jadyn kissed Seth on the cheek, resting her head on his shoulder. "I'm willing to help you."

"Good, but first we need to find the Rebels and get help, then we can try to help Sophie." he said, kissing her in return. He walked outside the Liberty and, for the first time, had a look at the situation. He noticed that one of the crew members was up on the top of one of the ship's communications antennas, trying to hook up an emergency transmitter to the top where there was a better signal. There was another man at the bottom of that same antenna with some other equipment set up; Seth heard him yell "Move it a little more to the right, Tup; I'm starting to get something" to the man at the top. Several of the men were removing the supplies from the cargo bay, while others were searching the surrounding buildings and vehicles for anything of use. One of them broke open the doors of a large, double-decker city bus that was leaning slightly on the side of one of the buildings, and started searching inside. Seth walked up to Dirk and started talking with him to get any other information he could on their situation.

Jadyn looked around, her blue eyes wide.
