Shiitake Mushrooms

Hey guys. So I am staring a shiitake mushrooms grow ( https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/shiitake-mushroom-farming-on-logs-at-earthen-acres.1357714/ ) and I was wondering if they would be a good regular addition to my chicken feed? I have read mixed things online, but it seems like if you cook them they are fine? They're super nutritious and I am always looking to cut my feed bill. Any thoughts or experiences?

Never tried it myself, but I’ve never seen them on a “can’t feed to chickens” list, so I’d imagine they’re fine.

Start small, see how it goes, then go from there, maybe?
