Sometimes Easter eggers are yellow . I have had several and I was like wha ??? But they grow in pretty color. I could post some of mine that a feathered out if you like to see ? Grats on a safe arrival. sorry for the loss of the last batch.
Just went in to check on them, and there was one laying off by herself, legs outstretched in front of her. An ee. I picked her up and she barely moved. Legs practically stiff. I've got her in isolation now but I fear she will die within the hour. Probably by the time I go back in to check on them.
I have been watching this thread. I am so happy that your second batch arrived in much better shape than the first. Sorry that you have lost a few. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you don't loose anymore.
Another one is dead. Seems the eggers are dropping like flies. No clue why ... they just get weak, stop drinking and eating, and lay down.
I've added a smidge of vitamins to the water. They are heated appropriately, have water, chick feed, chick grit, and plenty of room to roam if they need it. We just did a pasty butt checks and took care of the two that needed it.
25 ordered. 27 received. 1 DOA. With this fourth dead, we're now down to 23 chicks left. Only the EEs are dying. So far.
We are very very sad here. If any more die, we probably won't deal with Cackle any more. This is so difficult to go through. Getting attached to little fuzzies, then to have them die in my hands.
I would remove the chick grit, and only have fresh water and chick starter crumbles, grit is really unnecessary this early on. Not much you can do but make sure each one is eating and drinking. Did you dip each of their beaks in the water so they know where it is?
I would highly suggest when ordering chicks in the future since you live in a cold climate to wait until warmer weather. I just hated to hear your first shipment died, so very sad.

Thank you. I only just added the grit today but I just took it away for a week or so, and just pulverized the chick starter into powder (because these chicks are TINY!!). Everyone has been eating and drinking, then these few just stop, etc. No problem finding the water.
I'll contact Cackle on Monday to see what they have to say. Very nice to me the last time.
Until this year, never lost a bird .. chick or adult. Argh!
Good idea. I think I'll order replacements from somewhere else in a few months. After this year, I probably won't be ordering any at all. That's why I am working to get broodies. So I can hatch my own.
Oh course you could always get a incubator and hatch them yourself, ha ha. I am an hatching enabler, its so much fun. Sounds like your doing all you can, I hope you have some great success with these chicks!!
Took away the grit. Pulverized the chick starter feed. Fresh water regularly with vitamins. Pasty butt checks. Large area where they can get nice and warm and leave to get cooler.
Didn't tell my kid about the last one and not telling him about this one. It's hard enough on us adults ... can't imagine what he's thinking.
Try putting the temp up. One of our EEs got lethargic when it was a chick. Added more heat and she livened up! She needed more than the others I guess!
