Shipped CV quail on lockdown + pips!

Still waiting just lots of pips but I do think one may have already given up. It’s tough life being shipped and then hatched :(

Tap tap tap - anyone home? Looks like they are still in there lol

All are pipped except one so far, and the one I thought died (why am I always do quick to assume the death I don’t know) actually moved again so maybe he’s still hanging on for a bit lol

I’m afraid they are in bad positions due to the shipping and bad air cells :(

My husband said to wake him if any hatch I’m on guard duty and working all night (stay at home artist) so here I sit... lol

Ok now we are getting somewhere lol

Love them!! Only one so far and he is such a doll.

Others are rocking and rolling around I assume there will be more shortly.

He’s really putting up a fuss LOL comes to my face when I look in, won’t stop crying unless you sit with him and talk lol cute little things it’s like they try so hard to get out then hop around and cry LOL he’s a pretty good hopper!

I made a bad call and didn’t help one I should have helped last night. I thought he could make it out but his peeps were peeps of desperation. He’s gone. There was another this morning acting the same way. Desperate peeps from the egg. I removed the healthy baby and placed in brooder, opened the one I feared dead and he was, took the other and helped him out, there was blood but it was not coming from him, I imagine the mess inside was from the growth of a shipped egg. He seems ok, I left cord attached. He is weak, but peeping and sleeping in the incubator. I hope he makes it and once a friend comes out he has more will to live.

Another is unzipping now.

Some pics. 3 are out now. Lost one. Possibly we will now get 6 but not sure if the remaining eggs are alive I think they are still.

Lost another that could not hatch I think he passed 1-2 days ago. No movement and I opened him to be certain and he has not even gotten to absorb the yolk just as I had feared he was trapped.

So we still have 3 but 2 more may hatch I know definitely one will as he is trying to get out now, the other 50/50 may help him if he doesn’t show improvement he may already have gone.

Shipped eggs are a tough bunch but I did expect this and I am happy we will have at least 4.
