I posted something about this in the forum where byc'ers can sell eggs. I wanted to get the opinions though from those who have been on the buyer side. I bought some eggs last week from someone who harvested them around Wednesday and sent them either Friday or Saturday...she can't remember which. Anyway she sent them priority (with no dc to my knowledge) and I have not received them yet. I have kept her updated on this and she has neither offered to replace them or refund my money. For those of you who have been in a similar situation what do you do? I have emailed her and asked her if she would send some more if I paid for shipping. She said her hens have gone broody. So what do I do? Should I ask for her to refund my money? I am content with waiting a few weeks but if they are done laying for some time I certainly don't want to hatch any during the fall/winter months.
I don't want to be nasty about it but I don't want to just say oh well they didn't come, so be it. If I had ordered anything else and it didn't arrive, I would expect to either receive a refund or a replacement. I don't think eggs should be treated any differently.
What are you thoughts on this???? They are greatly appreciated!

When I had this problem with some special lightbulbs I ordered (for my coral aquarium and BADLY NEEDING THEM for my dying coral after my lights were broken) I called the USPS and had them track it down. They had been shipped on a monday a week before but they never came to my house and had instead been stashed somewhere in a warehouse and forgotten about or something. I would first get in touch with USPS and ask them to track it. If you get someone who says they can't...call another post office or ask them for a number of someone who can help you. If she did indeed ship them they should be able to locate them or at least the last place it was dropped off and either check their computers or have employees make some calls. I forgot all the information I gave them but I had a list of stuff I told them like the seller's name/alias, the city he/she shipped from, days in transit,...etc.

But my particular case was messed up anyway because they had been shipped by a plane and had been accidentally unloaded in one of the pass over cities. USPS had to call the airport and I had to talk to USPS, the nice airport lady, and some other guy before finally getting my lights.

If it were me, I would kindly ask for a refund. As why someone would not get delivery conformation with sending the eggs or anythind else that was bought online, is beyond me. As not only as a seller to know when the package arrived, but so that a buyer cannot dispute that they never got the eggs.

And if that doesnt work or nothing is done about your eggs/money I would then leave bad feedback as to warn others of the mishap and bad customer service.
