Hi, I have the chance to pre-order some silver pied eggs. How well do pea eggs ship in general. The eggs are around 278 km from my house or a 3 hour drive. I'm still just thinking about it before I pre order as I don't want to waste money on eggs that won't hatch due to shipping.

Eggs don't handle being shaken up well. I presume you're going to pick them up yourself? In that case, I'd wrap them up in a quilt or a couple of quilts. You could put them then in a box and seat belt them in.

When you get home, set them small end down in egg cartons for 18-24 hours at room temperature before putting them in the incubator. That will let the air cell go back where it belongs.

3 hours isn't too long. Even for chicken eggs I would drive rather than have them posted so it would definitely be worth it for peafowl. I've read here many times that they are hard to hatch anyway.

Good advice above :goodpost: If the eggs are going to go through the post service then definitely rest the eggs as recommended above AND do not turn for the first couple of days in the incubator. (point down)

Also know that there is no guarantee of getting SP out of two SP parents. 25% White, 50% SP, and 25% Dark Pied are the chances. All will carry White Eye, you won't see WE in the Whites, all SP have full WE, and the Dark Pieds will also have full WE.
