Shipped wrong peep-peeps?

Hey guys! I just joined the community and was hoping you could help. I recently ordered some Antwerp Belgian D'Anvers in quail and blue quail. Half of the blue quail chicks are a light yellow-greyish color. I've raised D'Anvers before but never seen this coloration. The pic shows the typical blue on the right. Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't know how your blue quail chicks should look like, but hatcheries do make errors in shipping sometimes. Call and talk to them, and send pictures. Most hatcheries will fix any errors in shipping with no issues.

I thought about it but I don't want any more chicks right now. They seem pretty cool. I'm interested in seeing how they turn out. Who knows, maybe it's some kind of rare color mutation haha

I'm sorry I'm late. Here are better pics of a cockerel & pullet in question. When blue D'Anver chicks are a slate grey/blue they turn out like the attached Googled pic. I'm not sure how this color is produced. Regardless they're part of the family

I'm betting you have splash quail chicks there, along with your blue quail ones.

If you're not familiar with blue genetics in chickens, here's a page about them:

(The article is talking about solid black/blue/splash, but it works the same way with patterned chickens. The black parts of the pattern turn blue or splash. The gold parts tend to get a bit lighter, but are still some shade of gold.)

Your chicks look like Red Pyle. Which is basically the dominant white gene on a wild type/BBR bird.

Adult Red Pyle males have white breasts. What age does that become visible?
In one of the photos of a cockerel & a pullet, I can see light-brown feathers on both breasts.
