Hello everyone! There is apparently an egg shortage where my family lives in MD. I say apparently because eggs are one thing our local grocery stores have plenty.

This is the time of year we begin to have an excess and my family are usually the recipients. Without being able to travel and them being short, I would like to try shipping a few dozen eggs their way.

I have never received nor shipped eggs before. Are there any special considerations required (other than securing to prevent breakage? Do i need to notify the post office of its contents? Is there a special fee? I am assuming that since the eggs sit on my counter for weeks without refrigeration, they are ok to be shipped in the same manner?
Thanks!
