Shooting predators

A .22 rifle or pistol works good.
Don't do what DH did and shoot a skunk with a .357.
Didn't smell too good around here for quite awhile.

Definately check your local laws concerning the coons. They are nasty little critters.

well if i shoot the coons, what should i do with the bodies i just don't want to have a bunch of stinking bodies laying around under my house like gacy.

I'd suggest talking to the game warden about it. First, to get the legalities of shooting them or find out what your other legal options are. There may be some laws about how to dispose of them too. The game warden should know what the legalities are.

So far, I have buried them. Next time though I am going to talk to the taxidermist that lives in the general area. A neighbor told me that taxidermist will take them off my hands and dispose of them. I imagine he stuffs them and sells them. I don't know for sure though.

LOL, that cracked me up! No, don't want you to be the John Wayne Gacy of coon hunters. We get a hot fire going and burn bodies of birds who die around here. Got to be too much to always dig holes in our rocky, root-ridden ground.

Anything more than .22LR, cheap ammo, is a waste of money.

What to do? Go into business

Articulated, real bone, skeletons are rather expensive.
