I have a question on egg laying . I'm new to this I have four pullets about 14 weeks they are sapphire gems . I under stand that they will start laying around 20 weeks. what I am wondering as the days get shorter will that extend the time that they will start laying? I have read were egg production is slowed by short days and just wondering . I know I'll get eggs sooner or later Thanks

It may. Daylight period generally does not affect pullets as much as it does mature hens.
Thank you . this is such a great form. So much info and when you ask a question it doesn't take long to get a answer . I am looking forward to the day I know enough to pay it forward ,Thanks

She may lay yet this year.....or wait until the days begin to lengthen again after Solstice.
