Shot a pest, not a predator, but the neighbour is irate.

I'm afraid this isn't going to end well-either your situation or this thread. Lock down is probably imminent here, folks. Moderator?

Just because you like eating horse meat doesn't mean you needed to shoot the horse. Is this how you justify what you did?? What, were you looking for your next free meal???

Actually horse doesn't taste that great. I'll take breaded veal scallopini over horse any day. THIS IS THE PREDATOR & PEST SECTION FOLKS. I was just voicing my OPINION on what transpired today.

Sorry to rile all the HORSEY folk up.

PS....I bet the rest of the horse folk up here won't ride MY PROPERTY anymore (I'm really hoping here)

Ok, people. It is now obvious to me that the OP here is simply trying to start trouble and get a rise out of all of us. Lets look at this rationally, INGORING the last post somewhat which makes my stomach turn.

Anyhow, though I can still not see the justification for shooting a horse or all creatures, it WAS on the OP's property appearantly, and appearantly that is something none of us will ever do for fear of meeting an early demise!

Now back to the last post, we also need to keep in mind that in other countries, they see US as evil sickos for eating cow, which seems completely normal to us. And how many of you like lobster? Yum, right? You know they throw that creature in the pot of boiling water while its alive and breathing. But thats normal to us. In China, they do a similar thing with the thousands of unwanted stray kittens that roam the streets, and think nothing of it. We would be horrified to see a live kitten thrown into a pot of boiling water. But what makes a lobster so different? Because what, kittens are cuter?

We are up in arms here because the animal that lost its life was a cute, cuddly one that most of us (myself included) adore, own, or have always dreamed of owning (me). If it had been a wild rabbit or even someones dog, we would be saying the OP had done a good thing in protecting their crops.

I am NOT standing up for the posts! I think killing a horse is FAR too extreme (and it sickens me to no end), even with mulitple warnings. Not to mention the court costs this will bring upon the OP. A horse is a lot more costly than a dog and replacing the animal will help the OP understand and accept what they've done. They have taken someone's beloved pet away. I dont care how rude you thought she was, no one should be forced to handle the pain of loosing a pet that way. Do YOU have animals you love? What if your neighbor did this to yours? Its a shame. So sad.

I personally would have taken the horse back, or even called AC to pick it up and let the owner deal with the costs of bailing it out of lock up. Or, on a second offence I would have kept it until the owner came looking for it! Then I would have explained simply that should it be found again, they WONT get it back. (and by that I do NOT mean killing it. I mean sell it or give it away to another home or something.)

Its a shame (if its true) and nothing can change whats happened. I say we let this post become burried so the shock of reading it doesnt make so many other members want to throw up. Its sad, and just not right in my eyes. But its over and I think continually telling the OP how upset we are is just what they want. Lets drop this post and leave it to the vultures. Hopefully a moderator will come along quickly to remove it. Sick and sad. So sad. Nice dreams I'll have tonight. Thanks.
