Should ducklings sleep in the dark?

Another weird thing is that she keeps sitting in her water and doesn't like human interaction. We keep trying to give her some space but we don't like the fact that she might get hypothermia?

That's pretty typical. Ducks LOVE water. Try to spend time with her as much as possible. You don't want her to be leery of humans when she's older. My sister and I let our ducks sleep in our bed with us one night(I know-gross, right?) because they were sneezing and we thought that they had a cold. Turns out that we had given them the idea that WE were mamas to them. They followed us EVERYWHERE after that. Sadly my drake ended up being pretty vicious. I put hot sauce on my hands to try to get him to stop biting me. Turned out that he LOVED hot sauce. Ya! OUCH! How old is your little one?

We don't know how old she is. We found her on the street. I think it's adorable how you slept with them! Glad they didn't get squashed. Buttercup is being much more social after her first bath.

Ya, adorable alright! It was not our intention to actually have them sleep there all night. We both woke up at like 4 a.m. My sis goes, "Where's the ducks!?" I was all kinds of freaked out! I thought that we might have rolled on them, but nope! They had cralwed over our pillows, on the the nightstand, and then down to the floor. Pretty crazy, right? I'm glad that she's being more friendly now. I'm so glad that she's alive after y'all rescued her! We tried once, but we could't save the poor thing. Does she still have her downy?

She is so precious! :love Quick story - the first night we had our first 2 ducklings, we put them to bed in their cozy and warm pen in our bathroom. We didn't use a brooder which I know is not recommended, but it wasn't feasible for us at the time. Anyway, they started peeping - very loud and nonstop for about an hour. We were starting to rethink this duck thing LOL. Then it occurred to me that they had been under a lamp for the first week of their life (in TSC). I added a night light and they went right to sleep. :wee
