Should i add a rooster advise needed.

You don't have to raise the rooster and the puppy together for them to get along, all my roosters get along fine with my dogs and they did not meet until they were adults. A rooster can cause harm to people of all ages if it is aggressive. Raising a rooster with the kids won't stop him from turning into an aggressive rooster. All of this just depends on the bird, weather you raise it with or without something won't really have any effects on the bird's temperament.

Yes, But this isin't about if they need a rooster, Its about if they Want a rooster.
No....actually:
I am considering a rooster for added protection and for alarm purposes. But I have concerns beyond what I can find on line. Will you all weigh in with your thoughts please.
I just gave my opinions, which were also presented by others.

So.... I got a Rooster!!!! Mostly because the first time I saw him i was drawn to him. He was a "rooster too many" of my neighbor's and she let him come try out our coop for a day. I reached in his pen and picked him up and he fell asleep in my arms on the way home. Her flock is healthy so I didn't quarintine him and he insantanly let everyone hold him. Both my 9 and 7 year old sons ans my husband.

He slept separate last night and we let him loose this morning. We held our breath and this is what happened so far. What do you think?

Also a tiny short clip... You can see the dog was in there and so were the geese! A great first day! https://photos.app.goo.gl/6yH9MAAod9ben3Yc6

Thank you all for your thoughts....this is what I got from your advise... The right rooster is important! I think it might work.

He's beautiful. I strongly suggest you don't let your guard down for quite some time.
