It looks like the hole was made bigger but the chick did not zip. The membrane does not look right. You may need to put some coconut oil on it to prevent it from drying out while the chick finishes his business before hatching. You can also use vaseline or an antibiotic ointment. Is the chick still moving in there? Leave him be after putting something on the membrane, he is not ready yet. Make sure your humidity is up at about 65 -70% Good luck.

The cord will be connected to it's belly button. If you have other hatchers coming, you might think about separating this little one until the belly button heals, you dont need the other chicks pecking at it. I'm glad the chick is OK otherwise.I took it out to check it out and it was dried and shrink wrapped I got it out with no bleeding but the bottom area maybe the vent where the cord is connected is still open a bit so I'm watching it closely it was happy to get out and stretch
