Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I got ONE egg today!! ONE BLUE egg.

I kept the girls in the pen all day because it was snowing and I was hoping to keep egg laying to the coop. I have a feeling that Rumples is laying eggs under the toy hauler. This is the first egg from her in two weeks... although, she is still only about 34 weeks old.

But she reached POL at about 24-25 weeks. Oh well... when we go camping in the Spring, I might just find a nest of eggs. Hope not...

Yay for blue eggs!

I have been meaning to ask, what is a toy hauler?! And why do the chickens like it so much?

That is an excellent idea! Especially effective with blood red paint.

Lindz, I know you've been trying and most people would have destroyed the dogs by now, but I was wondering if the AC has a large live trap you could borrow. That way the owners would have to pay (hopefully a lot) to get their dogs back. If reason and ethics don't get a person to change their ways, money might.

This one dog kept showing up at my parents' house, and mom would call the number on the collar and keep it safe until the owners showed up late in the day, very thankful and apologetic. By the third time, mom figured this would go on forever so she called animal control instead. Guess having to pay for the dog running loose was motivation for the owners to finally do something, and it never showed up again. (Lazy people fixed their fence. Mom checked.)

A live trap is a good idea also. Are the dogs people friendly??? If so, just haul them off to the shelter. Money talks.....

This is our toy hauler. It is called that because it has a ramp at the back end that we can load motorcycles or 4 wheelers into. The chickens like to be under it for shelter. It has a lot of dry dirt under it and I put water and treats there too.

@lindz8504 Too bad you don't have a paintball gun. That would let the owners know what could really happen to their dogs.

Raining and storming here this morning. The ground is already saturated and this is making it a big muddy mess. I really wish we could send it out to you all that are really needing it. My husband and I were talking about how they could run a pipeline using the interstate medians to transfer water in the direction that it is needed. Lol we have some crazy conversations sometimes.

TWO eggs so far today. I am hoping for Si to lay a nice green egg today. She is kinda on the 3 days on, 1-2 days off.
Today is a day off from work... so I guess that it is chore day. Scoop coop poop.
