Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Doesn't it just bum you out when you think you have a broody only to find four more eggs? Ha ha! Three in the nest, and one in the corner under the roosts. I guess it is time to switch my last check to 7:00. 20 eggs total!!

The woman came for the eggs. I gave her 10 dozen. Now I will cook up 2 dozen scrambled eggs, and freeze them in several containers. I am not a breakfast person, but I guess I could choke down some pre- cooked food.

I had a nice morning this morning. The girls just needed the run open. I usually get dressed, the dog and I tend to the gang, then I can have coffee and play on the computer. This morning I was steaming (I saw DH's paycheck!) so I put my sneakers on. made my coffee, let the girls out, and sat on the swing. It took a while, but I calmed down while watching chicken television. I hope to spend more mornings like that. Not the bad paycheck! Watching the girls while drinking coffee. I thought I liked sitting on the sun porch. This is better!

Cats. There are the health issues, not liking the kind of litter you are using (even if it is the same stuff you always used), the box isn't clean enough. But it can also be that they need another box.
Cheeka, I know you are selling your house, but if Sears (their professionals) can't get the carpet clean, can you cut the carpet right there, and put down linoleum? It looks better in front of a entrance door, but it might be okay there too.

I know that many of the "rules" are a little overthought, but it's really cold here. Highs in the 30's and lows in the teens/lower twenties. These chicks are 18 days old today. I already laughed in the face of the 5 deegrees a week rule but shutting their heat lamp off in the basement at only 2 weeks. According to "the rule" I should have had them in an 80 degree or so brooder. It was 65 in the basement and they were fine. The brooder in the garage now maxes out at 69 right under the light. On the other side it's 50. We put them out there today because they were really too big for their inside box. The new one is twice the size of the old one. It will stlil only hold them for a couple more weeks. They need to grow some feathers, the weather needs to start getting nice, and my coop needs to move forward!

Hey it's Roger. I been locked up in jail. They got me at Tractor Supply. Said I was shoplifting. It is all just a big misunderstanding. That bag of scratch was already opened. My dad OK is fine but has forgot how to make PIE. He has a court date next month but I don't have to be there. Our internet service is not working but they are coming tomorrow to fix it. See you all soon unless they send me back or i get cooked. I really need to lay a egg.
Hello, Roger . Some of us have been worried about OK. Not you. We were sure PETA would take care of you.

The turkeys are going to need a new place soon too. They are only 2-weeks-old, but they are about to step out of their brooder. They are still under a pound each (for another few days!) but as I have said. They will be three times this size (supposedly) in another 10 days. All I can do is give them the run of my only bathroom. Hmm... Okay. I can maybe put them in the cellar way. It is cement, but I have put the chicks there a few times. I once put 6-month-old pullets and a cockerel in there. You don't know loud until you have a chicken crowing underneath your room. Echoing throughout the house. I finished building the coop in the sleet.

I think we need to see pics of these turkeys!

for me, it's one of two cats possible, the third (Ollie)... it isn't him. one is Min Min, who is 18, ornery and decrepit, the other is Hershey, who is 8, a spaz, and just naughty enough to pull something like this. I might just cut that section out and do a strip of wood flooring, I do have some left over that might be enough to do a weird little corner... I've seen Cat From H377, good program... I have 3 cats, and 4 litter boxes. I always keep at least 1 more litter box than cats and I strive to keep them clean - I scoop 3 times a day. add fresh daily, and wash them out weekly. for being stuck inside all winter, it's essential as I scoop at least 6 poop piles and 10-12 pee clumps daily. so gross. I don't want anymore cats. I love them so much, but can't do litter anymore, and I'm likely to have Hershey til I'm 60... it's too cold here for them to live outdoors for the winter, I don't have a barn... so wherever I move, the plan is to build a cat enclosure and keep them outdoors as much as possible. I'm glad spring is finally here, I toss them all out in the morning, Hershey cries nonstop, Min Min wants back in after a half hour... Ollie is chill, he comes in when I get home from work.

I think I am going to head to cheeka's and lay low for a while. Unless you have room for me for a couple weeks.......or years. I am due to lay July 27th you know

Lindz8504... I watch "my Cat From H3LL" all the time. I have 4 cats and 5 litter boxes.

The cats have the deck for outside sunbathing and a 2400 sq ft house to roam.

The whole thing started (I think) when I got new neighbors. They have 2 cats that run freely. My cats are indoor cats. Maybe I need to have Jackson Galaxy come to beautiful Coeur d Alene, Idaho for a show segment??
