Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Yes, I read that which is what prompted my comment.

Naturally, the two of mine that have them one is a roo and the other is the one that is gone. So frustrating.

bummer mortie. I had a little chick last year - pullet, with a crest - called her Tufty. of course, she got out of the broody pen and all that was left were feathers. it's always the favorite, or at least the girls. out of 4 chicks of that hatch I got 2 of each. Esther is left, carrying the load. she's looking mighty broody all pancaked out in her nest. I am fairly certain that her eggs and Sillie's eggs are fertilized, I might just leave any bantam eggs she's sitting on to see if she sticks it out overnight. pics later, flock is out, so I have to dash. but I popped on to say I have 4 Eggs from the Foster's Dogloo and a 5th is in there right now! Broody BO is doing great, ate from my hand and had a drink of water when I held it out to her.
 
okay, egg song, so I checked Miss Foster and she laid her egg, I could see it waaaaay in the back of the dogloo. I can fit inside, but I block all the light, so, without a flashlight, I'm feeling around... and I found a pile of eggs! so a few did lay yesterday and I couldn't see them, and didn't feel them! I have 12 Eggs in all from the Fosters! out of 10 hens, 9 of whom are laying.

21 so far and there's like 6 girls sitting and a few standing around for their preferred spots, so maybe I'll break 30

by days end... I need 5 dozen for one lady on Wednesday and I picked up a couple of orders today...
 
Uh ohhhh nugget is sitting on a nest and is being mean! Hoping she isn't going broody too!!! I can't take more than one trial run this first time!!! Hopefully she's just laying an egg!!!

Our run is very shady, which they will enjoy in the summer when it gets hot, but for now it's pretty cool and they don't get in the sun much. This morning they found some sun and flopped down like this and I thought it was funny. Here is a picture of them last night catching the last little patch of sun in the run.
