Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Isis is on a roll...! 3 days in a row. Blu hasn't laid in 2 days, but she's acting totally fine, so no signs that she is egg bound... hopefully I'll have 4 in the morning. my afternoon ladies have progressed to early evening this week, so I figure they will be laying in the morning very soon

3 for today, even tho' I know Betty laid hers last evening.

my BH lives 54 miles away, is only here for about 3 days every 2 weeks, if I bring the chickens inside, it's only me who will suffer the consequences... altho' I might bring them into the back room during the storm if it gets bad enough, I have to take the carpet up in there anyway.

You guys are so fun, so last night the. Girls were in their new brooder and suddenly we heard a commotion, my dh came to tell me the chickens were lonely and wanted to comeback by the people upstairs. I sent himdownto the basement to. Turn the lights off and reassure them that the new more spacious home was fine. He comes back up and says the RIR was making the. Noise because it. Hadsomehow( no idea) gotten out and was trying to get back in...now I was worried...how did she get out? It's got metal bars everywhere....so next they made a commotion because it was dark and noone knew where to sleep etc...so around a half hour goes by and I go to check on them....and I'm concerned still about the escapee and how it was done....it's midnight and my dh is complaining. We should go to bed. We lay down and as mention bringing them up into the bedroom. In a dog crate....dh got up and walked out ( I thought he Had left to the couch) I heard the front door open and close, made me think he heard another raccoon (different story). Twenty minutes later he comes back in the bedroom and changes his clothes and lays down. He says the chickens are all tucked in and quiet. He got a tarp and wrapped it around the entire enclosure sides and pushed in some wood perches for them to roost on. Morale of the story...It looks like my big girl outdoor coop will be finished by the end of November if the threat of chicks in the bedroom can get him out of bed. Imagine what will happen if the BR starts hanging out upstairs in the house :) I think I may name the BR Sandy :)

Atta girl now in the morning when he is eating breakfast get the BR and stand her in a chair at the kitchen table and let her eat oatmeal across the table from him. I predict the coop will be done by the end of October if you do.

Oatmeal Shower! you'll have bits of oatmeal on the ceiling...! reminds me of an awful family episode years back, gramma was cooking broccoli in a pressure cooker (

) and she did not release the pressure when she took the lid off... so it blew off in her face. broke her nose, her cheekbone and punctured a hole near her eye that needed stiches. she insisted that she eat dinner before going to the hospital. I told her I would get papa's old upholstery needles and stitch her up myself if she didn't let me take her right now! I had to clean it up. there was liquified broccoli everywhere from the ceiling to the cabinets, to the floors, and in gramma's clothes, hair, ears... I didn't eat cooked broccoli again for probably 2-3 years... raw yes, cooked never

I do eat it now... but that was crazy...
