Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I might get one of these for Roger so she can come in the house.

7 today!!! Hurray! Hurray!

OK, if you dare put Roger in a diaper, she will be Barely Recognizable by such a Blistering Rebuke. She will glare at you with Baleful Recrimination and demand Bountiful Reparation.... of pie. And the pie will have to be, you guessed it, Blueberry Raspberry!

AnimalLover, what a great surprise to come back to find 8 eggs. Have some for breakfast tomorrow!

Cheeka, I will never cook broccoli in a pressure cooker. What a terrible thing!

As for freeloading dogs, mine do sound the alarm when necessary, and sometimes when unnecessary. They are also pretty good about keeping varmints out of the yard. Remember the late night harassing of the skunk? It has happened 3 more times since that post. Luckily the skunk has been a terrible aim. Last night was a different story. Dog was apparently sick of that skunk coming into her yard, so she took care of it. Hubby found the dead skunk this morning. Dog has serious skunk breath and is sleeping in the garage for now.

Stay safe in the storm everyone. News report said Sandy is 800 miles across!!

Atta girl now in the morning when he is eating breakfast get the BR and stand her in a chair at the kitchen table and let her eat oatmeal across the table from him. I predict the coop will be done by the end of October if you do.

Lol he is getting ready to leave so October is a bust. My sister brought me some egg cartons today and I about died laughing. They are three weeks old! She was like "oh my friends thought. You needed them" . it was sweet but it had me laughing. I think other people/family are going to go crazy over waiting for eggs...goodnight all hopefully we don't lose power too long and we have no flooding.

I started saving egg cartons as soon as we decided to get chicks. Everyone saved for months and months. There was a huge stack on the 'frige. The girls were laying pretty good by the end of August, and I hardly have any cartons left!

Thinking of you in the storm!

I love my family but if the coop was done I would be in it.....this storm needs to be quick lol

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts.

hang in there Sally! so far so good up here, but we are having 30+ mph winds with 50+ mph gusts. 6pm check of the gang: all's quiet on the roost, I put a makeshift divider up and moved the bantam and her 2 bodyguards into the enclosure and gave them the apple coop. they are roosting in the enclosure, seem happy... it's dry and warm and the vinyl is still fully attached, put the big Tahoe truck in front of the enclosure as it's not draped in clear plastic yet... as a wind block, it's working, it's nice in there.
I was just about to make a cup of cocoa and chill with me feet up... and my cousin arrives with ice cream! so... Death by Chocolate and storm tracker...

and for 7pm... i'm lookin' good out there with the enclosure in perfect condition despite the high winds. i'm starting to relax a bit now, no power flickers yet, but i do not expect to hold on to electricity in this...
