I went in around noon to get the eggs. I had three brown eggs in one nest box and of course the little jerk deposited her daily egg on the poop board. I always move the wood chips around because sometimes they cover a egg up if they get scratching around. I had a white hard boiled egg in each nest box and I always make sure they can see it. Both were there i'm positive of that. Of course they rushed in with their growling and the usual bok....bok....bok. I picked up the waterer and carried it over to fill it up with water. Took the eggs in the house did a few things went back out and filled the waterer and headed back to the coop. Was gone probably 15 minutes at most. Noticed everybody had gone inside the coop. Took the fresh water inside hung it on the hook and when I looked at the nest I noticed one of the hard boiled eggs gone. The other one was kicked to the corner of the nest. I moved the chips around thinking it was covered up but it was gone. Checked the floor and there was nothing. Raked the deep spots of wood chips around thinking I would find it covered up. It completely vanished. A snake would have had to get in there swallow the egg and be gone in less than 15 minutes. I'm not leaning toward snake.
