Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

so cool mortie! I saved the molts from my crayfish and my tarantulas too... and would tape the spiders fangs along the top of each one's tank to show how many times they went through the shed and the subsequent growth. I only got bitten once and it was torture. instinct is to fling the hand around to rid it of the spider, but tarantula's are fairly delicate and a flinging will rupture the abdomen, resulting in death. the cheapest spider I had cost me $50, this was back in the 80's... I was young so that was a lot of $$!! my mother hated them and I was never supposed to take them out, but I would... I'll never forget how one got stuck on the shag carpet! never put one down on that stuff again!

Thank you for the wecome

You and everyone else! It is tempting to let them grow to be 50#. As long as they stayed healthy that is. I have dealt with a (butchered) turkey that big. Don't want to again.

Oh I had to get food so I was torn between switching to layer and going with all flock again. Decided to go with all flock with oyster shell on the side. I am now the proud owner of a 50 lb bag of oyster shell. They didn't have any bags smaller. With 6 chickens how long is that going to last me? I'm thinking it's a lifetime supply...

you could do what I did and just spill the remaining 49 pounds out the bottom of the wet paper bag it's in....All over your porch.

I live in England...a farm not far from me.

and I got r blue egg today too..
so I two eggs today for the first time....yay

So eggciting!! I did look up skyline chickens. They look a lot like our E.E. Ours lay olive color & blue/green.. One in particular lays a dark olive with speckles.. Our basket is wonderful..
In this photo we happen to have eggs from our flock, on top, jumbo quail mixed dark marking,in with wild dove eggs. A bit bigger. The colors range from a light blue tint along with light pink hue.. Then finally the larger white duck egg at the bottom..
