Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I did the same thing Mortie! I was told that until you see an egg not to switch to layer so idk. So I have news.... Not egg news because lord knows I have defective girls ( both chickens and ducks) but one of my khaki campbell duck just got about 3 feet off the ground! That was exciting! But also a little nerve racking because it was flying in the direction of one of my dogs!

I think someone is going to lay within the next 2 weeks so I don't think layer would hurt that one but I suspect my ameraucanas will hold out longer maybe even a month or more so I didn't want to give them later. I am sure the oyster shell will be fine.

Very pretty sceambles!

wow lovely egg colours...my skyline had a 80% chance of being blue..i was lucky.

We got our silkie as a gift. She lays cream colored eggs, Wish they were blue.. She is one of the sweetest hen's we have.. She has had 2 sets of chicks this year.our barn yard mix. We bring her out in the front yard when my D.H. Is working on bikes for friends, & she just hangs out with us.. Everyone loves Cheryl... We have given about 4-5 sets of friend baby chicks to start their flock.. Love talking chicken & sharing the farm fresh eggs from the city... :highfive:
