Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Hey guys! Busy weekend but my sister's baby shower was a success! I also had 11 chicks hatch Sunday but lost one. I'm going on vacation for a week or so to visit my aunt, so the chicks went to my aunt in law's until I get back. It is just me and the kids going but hubby was afraid to keep them here with him working all day. Bitty's should hatch around Friday and he will move her and babies into the little coop. I'm probably going to be MIA while I am gone but will try to check in a few times.
Well I have to get some sleep!I have a 9hour drive tomorrow.
 
Lindz that made me think....what will I do on vacation? Will I check in? I won't have anything to add since I won't be in contact with my girls. That'll be weird...

I don't drink coffee but if I did, I like to think that my cup would have a chicken on it.

I stumbled out all bleary eyed to the coop this morning. Penny kind of looked at me all incredulously as if I had a lot of nerve to show up at 7 looking for an egg. And yet, there was a 53 gram egg waiting for me in the nest. She is only a couple of grams away from laying a size large egg. Today's egg was #10. I'm so proud of her. Out of the last 13 days, she has laid 10 times and none of her eggs were particularly weird. The first one was super thin shelled but otherwise perfect and the rest have been totally perfect inside and out. YAY PENNY!
