Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I'm having issues uploading the pictures....

Yay for the new chicks! I hope the rest hatch quickly and safely!

Gossy, and Cressa are adorable sitting together!

Rawley looks really comfortable right where he is! I am kinda doubting you get him out to the barn or field now. LOL...

love all the chick pics! and CLindz... that bed is his. I did the same with Chester. he used to sleep at the foot. now, it's easier to just curl up around him rather than trying to make him move. then Ruby climbs up on me - she prefers to sleep upright and props herself up my stomach and drapes over my waist - I must sleep on my side or she paces the bed. so we're just a pile in the middle of the bed, sometimes sleeping sideways because that's how Chester starts us off... what we do to ourselves for our furbabies...

I'm so seriously hoping that Cressa can handle basic rearing... what is she now? 8 weeks old? plus a couple of days...??? but I have photographic evidence of her sneaking in to sit with Gossamer for the past 5 days. I know exactly how easy it is for her to fly in, then also to hop up and fly out. she's a smart little chicky! so... fingers and toes crossed that Gossamer will make it to the end.

did I post this pic already?

we had cake to celebrate the new chick! well. they had cake... I had chocolate pudding.

TN this early you won't see much. You might see some red veining that looks like a spider web. In a couple of days it'll be more pronounced and you should see a little black peanut in the center of the web.

Well 5 outta 6 are out so far from the one incubator. I helped the one a little at 2 am by making a bigger hole but not enough that she could get out super easy. Since she was malpositioned I had no clue where the yolk was so I didn't want her getting out too easily.
Well at 6:30 this morning she was out and drying. Now I'm just waiting on the last one in that bator.

I have 2 pips in the other bator so I'm expecting them to hatch tonight into tomorrow.

Waiting is harder than I thought! Its only day 3 and I'm going crazy. I tried to candle one tonight but I don't know what I'm looking at.

You pretty much have to crack them open to see the development on day 3. Not recommended......

Yeah lol I just thought I'd try. I have some dark brown speckled eggs I can't see through :-(
Waiting on hatching is definitely harder I think! I would be obsessive about it. When the broodies hatched eggs, it was all their responsibility. They wouldn't let me obsess too much, especially the bitey mama. I could kick back and blame any problems on them!

yeah, right

So cute!

Took the sick pullets up to the old farm to be isolated from my birds here. The breeder sent in his culls for necropsy and they arrived at the lab this morning. Hoping we get results soon. Depending on what it is, I may not be hatching for a long, long time.
